    Destiny Review

If you have been interested even slightly in Bungie's new game you must heard just about everyone's opinion. But I would like to reinterate the collective and say my two cents which is much the same. My experince for Destiny has relied on two other individuals, shockingly I have even stopped playing the 'Lone Fox' and have waited to my party (which shall be called .... I don't know .... Team Run Mates or RM) to have free time to play together.

So for a couple of hours team RM would get together after work and sit down to play the story missions, run strikes and grind loot and for the most part it has been very enjoyable. The core puzzle solving gameplay of 'use gun on man/alien' still feel good, with a controllable boost jump and fast paced monuvering it is hard to beat. The visuals look great and vibrant even if some parts feel steral, the character and weapon detail look amazing. The ability of popping in and out of fireteams is strightforward and works well. The multiplayer is what it is but I enjoyed my time with that kind of Bungie PVP.

Here is where this gets tricky because with all these great parts the game has lots of let downs. The story ( I guess what you can call a story) has a great start which got me excited, it opens with a cinematic that looks incredable, but the rest is mainly given to you by your robot assitant in pre mission dialog or by going to Bungie's website and signing up to see your 'Grimore Cards' (which you earn) which have a sentence or two on the bad guy or location.

Through out the game the envioments are awesome, but don't spend to much time taking it in because you will see it alot over the times you run through the same areas again and again, in strikes or speacial missions and makes them a downer. As you see these envioments though you will recieve 'Loot' from missions or killing bad guys and is fun to build up your 'Guardian'. This isn't a problem til late game, you see lvl 20 is a 'soft' level cap, after that you can increase your lvl by finding or buying armour that has 'light' attached to it, which causes you to go looking for new armour by grinding strikes and killing baddies. Now normally you would finish a mission and get some sort of reward for your effort, but by the time I got to lvl 23 I hit a brick wall. Now you might think that I would have to put the time in which I have but I can't help but feel discouraged when other players are earning loot when I am doing the same amount of hours and recieved nothing. It wasn't helping either with me dragging down Team RM because of bad luck.

There are ways of course to buy the stuff you need but to get that stuff you have to level up a PVP meter or a PVE meter which are separete from each other. But the time you would spend on that is unreasonable aswell. This sounds like I am being petty but you will see most of the content if not all by lvl 20 and going back to areas you have completed multiple times doesn't sound appealing when it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Now I am now lvl 25 mainly because an event allowed my to get some great armour to get me there and more is coming. Bungie is listening to its community and is fixing the loot drop system to make it more fair, fixing exploits and adding new content in the future to make it less repeatitive. However that will take time and as of now this game annoys me so much because it had me addicted for 2 weeks, every night playing with team RM and it was awesome, but I am moving on now because its that time of year and everything is coming out.

I don't know of Destiny is good or bad, it is a unique case where there was no review day one because they didn't hand it out to reviewers and so the major reviewers and the community got to experionce this weird example of what a good or bad game is. I have taken to telling others when asked what I think of Destiny by asking if they have friends and going from there. I like Destiny but I want to love it and there is hope that this will be a good foundation to build something revolutionary.
