It's when you get that data for Pritchard that leads you to Derelict Row. He sits by his computer and drinks while he talks with Pritchard.

You mean couch.

#4 Posted by Rhaknar (5939 posts) -

wasnt that just a promotional piece?

@AlexanderSheen: he obviously means couch no need to be a dick
#7 Posted by Dallas_Raines (2221 posts) -

It's from the original CG trailer.

#8 Posted by AnimalFather (800 posts) -

it didnt make the game? too bad it had a real blade runner feel to it. disc space really hampered the devs i could tell. all the cg in the game was also really low res.

#9 Posted by Dallas_Raines (2221 posts) -

@AnimalFather:

Yeah, the CG is the major flaw of the PC version.

#10 Posted by jaymorgoth (243 posts) -

@AnimalFather: Nah it's a scene for the second mission of the game. He may not be shirtless, but I do remember him sitting next to his computer drinking and smoking while talking with Pritchard. It's the set up for the mission into Derelict Row to jam the antenna signal.

I think you need to calm down.

I now request a photoshop of Jensen sitting on coach drinking though. Make it happen.

A lot was cut. All the content was going to make the game around 100+ hours. I hope to see some of that DLC.

He's not shirtless there. I think he's talking about the part where Jensen wakes up from the nightmares (And still getting used to his augs, seeing how he almost shatters the whiskey glass).

The following sentence may contain spoilers.

I had hoped they used pre-rendered CGI for some of the cutscenes (Like the one with the suicide hacker, it was already in the CGI trailer, but in-engine in the final game), but unfortunately that is not the case. I miss CGI in games, and Human Revolution certainly has some outstanding CGI.

Disclaimer: By CGI I mean pre-rendered footage, I know that real-time and in-engine is also CGI, but it's just easier to write.

I just wanted to say: Hey man, there's a typo in the Title. I don't think there was anything offensive in it. You know what, next time when I want to be a dick, You're gonna be the first who I let know of it :3

Shirtless Adam Jensen smoking on Coach sounds like the most disturbing thing ever.

#20 Posted by Mr_Skeleton (5154 posts) -

He didn't ask to be shirtless!

#21 Posted by mnzy (2925 posts) -

It's hard to find shirts for augmented people.

I've watched every episode of Coach and never saw shirtless Adam Jensen.

#29 Posted by Subjugation (4740 posts) -

I like the direction of this thread.

#30 Posted by Mr_Skeleton (5154 posts) -

Now that I think of it didn't he do it in the trailer?

#31 Posted by MooseyMcMan (11393 posts) -

I think they put out a lot of stuff in trailers that either wasn't in the game, or was totally different from the game. Or maybe that was just a gameplay demo. But I remember something where a dude who died early in the game was in something they showed much later in the game.

Yes. In the one where he has nightmares and is still not used to his augmentations (Almost shattering the whiskey glass). So it had to take place in the beginning, but why was he attacked then?

It's the nipples that are the issue. Cliffy B understands this and so he designed mens with huge exterior robo nips.

But seriously why was these parts cut from the game i mean they really set the tone. disc space?

#36 Posted by valrog (3648 posts) -
@CaLe: I'm sure the HUD displays are not that far away. Also, damn, paragraphs.

#39 Posted by Stahlbrand (840 posts) -

You don't think it is reasonable that the 'sitting on the couch with whisky' scene was for a per-release CGI marketing reel, like the scene of him scanning a dude through a wall? And not something that was ever meant to be put on the disc?

You people are too willing to jump on to conclusions.

Next you're going to be asking about why the family from the trailer isn't in Dead Island.

Sounds SEXY!

One problem with that though ... they are in the game. You can actually go to their room and see their bodies and the whole aftermath of the situation. They mention it in the video that Destructoid reviewed it in.

ya but that scene was amazing it really showed how Adam was struggling with the augmentations, and the "graphichs" of it looked amazing it would have really set the tone even more. i think its a shame it wasnt on the disc.

@CaLe said:

Maybe they just wanted to amputate their arms in order to get a more powerful arm for doing things such as lifting.

the expanded inventory augmentations are in the arm slot so i can see why getting augmented arms would be so popular.  also it protects you from a tranq dart to the shoulder . . . oh wait, it doesn’t do that at all.

It doesn't look that bad if you're playing on a plasma. I switched to playing on my TV for the second half of the game and man plasmas handle standard def content so, so much better than my LCD monitor. (or any LCD, really) It looked so much better.

It's still dumb they didn't include 720P at the minimum for the freaking PC version, though and I recognise I'm in a very small minority when it comes to playing a PC game on a plasma.

Wasn't all the cg trailer stuff done out of house? I was under the impression that Square Enix handled that, which is quite likely why there was a slight disconnect between what was in the trailer and what was in the game. I mean, in one of the trailers you get the invisible woman starting a riot in detroit and walking alongside one of the giant robots. That never even came close to happening in game.

It is perfectly fair however, to assume that all these were originally concepts the game was hoping to include but had to cut due to time constraints and the like. For instance, it would've been nice to include a longer introduction where you see Adam having his nightmares and drinking. I feel like this game had a lot of potential that didn't quite get explored all the way and the trailers seem to confirm that a lot of ideas either got shifted or removed entirely.

I mean really, it's a shame that the trailers are almost required viewing in order to fully unravel the depth in the characters.
