• General
  • The drop rates for high-end items (items level 61-63) have been increased for Acts III and IV of Hell difficulty and Acts I – IV of Inferno difficulty
    • The new approximate drop rates are as follows:
      • Hell – Act III and Act IV
        • iLvl 61: 9% to 13.9%
        • iLvl 62: 1.9% to 3.45%
        • iLvl 63: 0% (no change)
      • Inferno – Act I
        • iLvl 61: 17.7% to 23.9%
        • iLvl 62: 7.9% to 12.6%
        • iLvl 63: 2.0% to 4.8%
      • Inferno – Act II
        • iLvl 61: 18.6% to 23.3%
        • iLvl 62: 12.4% to 18.6%
        • iLvl 63: 4.1% to 9.3%
      • Inferno – Act III and Act IV
        • iLvl 61: 24.1% to 27.1%
        • iLvl 62: 16.1% to 21.7%
      • iLvl 63: 8.0% to 16.3%
• Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug with several items that would allow those items to block pathing when dropped on the ground

Bosses

• Bosses are now guaranteed to drop at least 1 Rare item for players with 4 stacks of Nephalem Valor and at least 2 Rare items for players with 5 stacks of Nephalem Valor

I have noticed a slight increase in level 62-63 gear, had no idea it was because of this though. Anyone else not seeing a whole lot of 63 weapons or is it just me?

Not 63, no. But I am actually getting the occasional decent 62 upgrade now.

Cool. Maybe I'll get some nice items that'll help me get through act 2.

Also I'm glad they put rares on bosses again. Didn't seem worth fighting them as it was before this hotfix.

Agree on all points. In fact, I was this close of putting my gear up on the RMAH and calling it quits, but here's at least a solid reason to avoid doing that for another week or two.

Though I would also like for the occasional Tome of Jewelcrafting to drop in Inferno. The fact that I'm getting square gems and not the books needed to fuse them seems flawed.

Yeah the change to bosses was much needed. I get it that champions and elites are the focus, but it was pretty stupid fighting through all that shit building up NV stacks only to get to a boss and be showered with shitty blues.

Increased or fixed exactly? I remember hearing that Act 3/4 Inferno had really bad dropped rates for ilvl62/63 in patch 1.03.

@Robo: I'm getting a good amount of gear 61-63 but it seems like all the weapons I get are in the mid 50s...and are complete trash. I'm probably just having a bad few days at farming.

I agree. Or allow the higher tier book to be used for all lower tiers. That will likely cause accidental problems of people getting mad about using their tomes of secrets by accident on lower tier gems cause they weren't paying attention or something.

So any idea when that hotfix will go live? (I know it's tomorrow, but an exact time would be nice)

Usually getting 4 rares off boss kills when I have 5 NV now. Too bad I still have shit luck regarding drops. Where do you guys farm for gear/gold?

You can hit some serious walls in Inferno where you are left to farm and re-farm the same parts of acts you know you can win until it drops better gear for you or you give up. They need to continue to adjust upwards the drops if they want to keep players engaged or they will just stop playing.
