Good stuff, i've never thought of it that way. Now we have a meaningful choice at higher levels. For instance my Barb has a choice of strength for more attack, int for more low risk low return defence and dex for high risk high return def. This is assuming your high enough level that strength is significantly more than other attributes.

This guy's (just checked out several of his videos) has got attitude and he's clearly making a pile of assumptions, but overall these seem very good. Subscribed for now.

You know how I play Diablo? If I come across gear that is better than what I am using, I equip it. That is about as deep into stats as I get :) If it keeps me alive longer, or delivers more damage, I know it's better and I use it. I just don't get into the numbers that much. I go by the results I see on screen during combat. If I am kicking butt I will think, this gear rocks! and I keep it.

As far as applying points when leveling up, I just spend points on the skills and attributes I know I will be needing for the character I am playing. I generally play melee, so that would be vitality, strength and dexterity, for the most part.

But that is just me. If you are a math guy and love crunching numbers I could see that being a big part of the game. I am sure it would be a smart way to play, I just rely on results. Especially when the stats on gear are close, or seemingly a trade off.

Well the problem with a lot games is that you often can't actually tell if gear is better, because the attribute systems are rather confusing. Diablo 2 was one of them actually.

It's gotten much better with Diablo 3 now though, which is great. It's much more obvious how exactly your gears and abilities affect your character.

By the way, one of the worst games in regard to stats-crazyness (for me) must have been Dungeons of Dredmor, it's like close to impossible to tell which of e.g. 2 swords are really better later on.
