    The Age of Decadence 0

It’s becoming ever more difficult for me to remain positive about the games industry. There exists a growing sense of alienation that has been difficult to shake and up till now accurately characterise. It’s not so much a feeling that most games these days are not aimed at me, although that certainly plays its part, but rather that the underlying design ethos that run through the likes of Dishonored 2 is antithetical to what I consider to be fun and good for gaming as a whole. Dishonored 2 Review 0

Title screen artDishonored 2 is the followup to the first Dishonored released in 2012. The story takes in an alternate steam-punk era fictional island called the Empire of the Isles 15 years after the first game, in which Corvo's daughter Emily ruled Dunwall for the absent time. On your mother's death anniversary, you are visited by your mother's supposed long lost sister,Delilah, who then takes the throne from you. After that, the story changes depending on if you play as Corvo or Emily, but bo...

    Dishonored 2 Review 0

Right off the bat this is one of the worst performing games I've played recently. It's super variable, too, so I spent the first 2 levels effing around with visual settings trying to get it right. Very frustrating. It's a shame that Arkane is using the Void Engine again for Deathloop (rumor? confirmed? Not sure but I think so...) instead of CryEngine. Prey ran like a dream and looked amazing. Game play and level design are great, but generally less memorable than the first game. I love the 2nd t...

    Dishonored 2 Review 0

4 years after the original Dishonored the series returns, this time on a new generation of hardware and boasting some new tech of its own, hoping to surpass the critical acclaim of its predecessor, and establish Arkane as a leader in the stealth-action genre.15 years have passed since the events of Dishonored, in which the royal empress Jessamine Kaldwin was assassinated, the blame placed falsely upon Corvo Attano, who was then responsible for clearing his name and restoring the rightful order. ...

    Just bad 0

Stealth is worse, as enemies spot you behind their backs or in dark corners. There is no UI elements that can guide/help the player to understand if one is hidden. Game feels rushed and it does not provide anything new. The same rectangular territories with marching enemies that you should kill/choke. The game offers some new weapons/skills but they are not groundbreaking or necessary, they feel out of touch with the game because you can ignore them even on the hardest difficulty. Nothing new. T...
