    Guilty Party Review

Guilty Party is basically a simplified Clue-esque type game for the Wii where you will get to explore different locations, trying to gather up clues in an effort to see who committed the crime. As you are picking up evidence you'll have to get through different types of puzzles. The adventure begins with the theft of a character's pudding, and escalates from there.

Graphically this game gives you some cutesy looking characters. There is definitely some blockiness to everything, and it doesn't look 100% polished, but the character models all have a very distinct look to them, as do the levels. The levels include a mansion, an aquarium, a train, a cruise ship, a zeppelin, and more.

The music has that mystery game sense to it, there's nothing really original about it, but it goes well with the flow of the game. The voices of the game are a much appreciated addition to the game. Each one has a distinct personality to them, and breaths life into the game.

The controls of the game are real simple, point the Wii-mote, and press A and sometimes A and B. There are a couple small issues when dealing with panning around the level, but once you get it down you don't really notice it as much.

So you are part of a mystery solving organization. You can be several different characters, each with their own unique approach to crime fighting. You'll have to play through the entire story arc to truly open up the game, but the story mode is definitely enjoyable the first time around, after that you might find that that piece of the game is lacking. This is definitely a game to be played with multiple people as you're going to be running though a level trying to track down clues, interrogate suspects, and try to stay one step ahead of the evil Dr. Valentine. There's a good assortment of puzzles to be had in this game, and as you get better at doing the puzzles the difficulty automatically starts to ramp up for you. Now if you fail enough times the game will allow you to go back down a step for a bit, but for the most part you're going to have quite the challenge as you near the end of the game. You'll also have an arsenal of cards that will enhance your turn to help you get to the bottom of the current mystery. The down side is that Valentine has his own set of cards that he will use to try to hinder your investigation.

Overall this was a fun game, I really wish party mode was open from the beginning, but going through the whole story had its own rewards. I'm not sure that this game is worth picking up if you're going to be playing it solo, but if you're looking for a game to goof around with and have to use your brain a bit on the Wii, I'd say go get it. This game gets an 8.3 out of 10.
