  • Altered_Confusion replied to the topic How do you feel about the Wii? in the Wii board.
Its a good gateway system to get non-gamers or casual gamers to see that consoles aren't the devil. Some may go on to get other consoles, and others might just find excitement and fun in the Wii. Sure there is a mountain of shovelware on the system, but there are some companies that take the Wii seriously, and those companies have been able to make some good games.

  • I think that older games are indeed still playable. Sure you might have to jump through some hoops to get them running, but actually playing them is doable. Now of course there are some games out there that if you go back and try to face off against them you might find that they are indeed as hard as you remembered them from your youth.

In this brutal intense game expect to die a lot, and yet not be completely defeated ever when you do die. • I vaguely remember playing an Atari game with boxing, and then one with tanks, but the one I really remember is watching my uncle play something called a Nintendo, and wanting to find out exactly how he was making this guy in red jump through colorful levels. I vaguely remember not being able to get through 1-1 without assistance.

  • I'd say the Most is GiantBomb, though I don't really read reviews now that I have GameFly, and I want to form my own opinion on games without coming into the game with a reviewers expectations. ( I write reviews for a website and I don't want my reviews to be influenced by others). The least though I'd have to say is Destructoid, I never really read them much, but after PAX ...

  • Microsoft would have to give me something that was over the top amazing to constitute a hike in prices. It's a struggle right now staying on Gold, but if the price increased and the experience stayed the same I think I would just stop paying and fall back into Silver.

  • Altered_Confusion replied to the topic Do you trade in games? in the Gamestop board.
I've only traded in 1 game ever, and that was Gran Turismo. In my experience its such a rip off, and I actually like to look at the games that I've amassed and one a rainy day I like to actually blow the layers of dust off the game and try to recapture what it was that made me want to play the game from start to finish.

You are a fresh out of jail skater who gets to go back to San Vanelona, the city has been rebuilt and security is tight in areas. You'll be performing tricks, competing against other pros, causing yourself great amounts of pain, and reclaiming the city for skaters.Graphically this game is what you'd expect from a 360 game. • Halo 3 ODST Review: Halo 3 ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) gives the player the chance to take a peek into the war before Master Chief took the spotlight in the series. You will be playing as 5 different soldiers each with their own weapon of preference as well as mannerisms. For most of the game you will be playing as the silent rookie (could this be the future Chief?) touring the city and ...

I do indeed buy downloadable games, but not all of them. If the downloadable is exclusively in that form meaning I can't go to the store to buy it then it greatly enhances my chance of buying the game. If I can get a copy in my hands, physically, then I'm going to get it in that form.

I don't know what it is but I feel more accomplished of a gamer when I'm able to actually show off my games, and the way that downloadable games are starting to push themselves into the foreground, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to do that.

Soon, I think it will all be about the list of games associated with your account that everyone can see. Well it's kind of already like that on XBOX Live when people are trying to see what your achievements are, but happening on all consoles.

In some ways the fighting game genre really never went away, but in the US I think it started to fade into the background because of the FPS popping up everywhere. Now that the FPS is basically where its going to be I think you're seeing genres that use to be the top dog starting to surface again. I'm not saying that fighting games are going to be king again, but I think you're seeing more come into view because of the huge draw of party games.

Its almost if there's this anti-online push that starting a bit, where you want to go old school and face off against someone in the same room so that you can smack talk and see the results of telling them what you did to their sister.

Then again I'm just not huge on playing games with or against people that I don't know for an extended amount of time, so that could just be me.

define cellphone games. Are we talking about Apple I-Phone games, or are we talking about the rest out there?

I'm not big on cell-phone games, I feel that a lot of companies that make games out there are there to make the quick buck, and are protected by the carrier when people get swindled into buying crap.

With Apple its a bit better, and game companies are actually taking it seriously, and there's some strong games out there that I'd play as I would a DS or PSP game.

Having a bunch of hype build up for a certain group or console, and it turns out to be a complete bust. It seems to happen at least once every year, and you're left wondering why in the hell someone would think that this would blow people's minds.

I would love to say no but have it indefinitely in development like its been for 13 years, but at the same time I'm not sure that it would have the fan base that it once had. People have moved on from that specific genre.
