Is it me, or do most of the DLC weapons suck?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I am rerolling a mage/sorcerer. Most of the in game weapons seem to be superior to the ones that I purchased. Am I missing something?

Can't say for certain but I've heard close to the same thing

A large majority of the weapons are for VERY specific use cases. Things like this sword does 3x Damage on Dragons but then every enemy outside dragons its going to do pitiful damage. If you don't mind rolling around with an armory in your bag and switching weapons constantly they could be useful but otherwise yeah... mostly useless.

I guess that is better than them forcing you to pay for good weapons but does make them kind of pointless.
