Dream sequences are a narrative and gameplay mechanic that present the thoughts or events that occur in dreams.

Dream sequences are segments of games that are made up of the dreams of characters. They usually present the thoughts of a character, or a component of the larger story. Dream sequences are not necessarily playable within the games.
 
Note: Dream sequences differ from hallucinations or flashbacks.
