    Dwarf Fortress

    Dwarf Fortress is a single-player, high fantasy simulation game in the style of old ASCII Roguelikes. You can control either a Dwarven clan attempting to build a settlement or a single adventurer in a randomly generated and persistent world complete with its own unique history.

    Email went out today. Apparently Dwarf Fortress will have a Steam release in the not too distant future that will add workshop support and a built in tileset. Plan is for the old classic/"ascii" version and the new graphics version to maintain parity. We'll see how that works out, but it is theoretically very possible

    I will absolutely buy this as soon as it comes out to support the developer, but I'm probably going to keep playing like usual. Dwarf Therapist is a must!

    @gkhan: My hope is that DT and the like will take advantage of steam workshop just so I don't need to wait for a lazy newb pack to get built up.
