    Do you like pressing X?

This seems like a very limited game, without much going for it.  Combat is the very definition of repetitive, and most of the strategy elements are badly lacking.   For the most part all you will do is mash X until your power bar builds up, then press B to blow apart everything in sight.  The only real tactics you have to decide on is what enemy base you are going to move to and mash X at next.

But for some reason, I keep playing it.  Smashing dudes by the thousands must satisfy some inner part of me, because even though i know its not a great game (and I have some great games waiting for my time) I cant seem to put this down.  I am even considering using the keep it option from Gamefly.

Upgrading your characters is the best part of the game, and that part does work well.  Even better is the custom character function.  You pick a "movement style" that is from one fo the existing characters, and that determines your weapon and moves.  You then have some other very basic choices of what type of person you want to be (offensive, defensive, fast, strong and slow, ect) and what bonus card you start with.  But the problem is the characters are not very well balanced.

I started my first game with my character based on Cao Cao, since he was always my favorite in the Romance games.  However I was getting stomped around, even on easy.  I then altered my character to be based off some guy with a huge sword that looked like it belonged in Final Fantasy.  Right away I started cutting dudes to ribbons, it was a night and day difference.  By the time I was nearing the end of that game I was so upgraded that I was unstoppable.

On my second play through I found a guy that was even more overpowered.  He was using a huge stone column that looked liked it was ripped off a roman temple as a weapon.  The range and power was nothing short of disgusting, and by the time he was upgraded his attacks were so strong that he was one shotting even the Main Base commanders.

I just cant seem to stop playing.  There must be a reason they have made 6 of these games, there is something addictive about it.
