Overview
Egg, also known as Bunmei Korokoro Game: EGG (loosely translated to "Civilization Rolling Game: EGG"), is an isometric turn-based strategy game developed by Beyond Interactive and published by Toshiba-EMI for the Sony PlayStation on February 19, 1998.
Described as an "action board game" and a "civilization battle game", Egg puts up to four players in control of their giant colored egg as they take turns rolling them around the game board, where tiles of their civilizations are created (and tiles of other civilizations are destroyed) in their wake.
Much of the game is using physics to determine where and how far to roll the egg, which can be cumbersome due to their shape and fragility. Similar to QIX, players can form a closed loop of their tiles to take up all empty tiles inside, which also gives them special buffs and power-ups.
It later received a re-release by Hamster on June 29, 2000 as part of their Major Wave budget series.
