okay, here is the situation, i already have rome: total war and medieval 2: total war
empire: total war is at half price right now on steam, so is it worth getting if i already have those 2 games?
i have never liked games with guns as much as i like games with swords, and i cant remember a game i have liked better from a series once it went got to a stage that had guns (example: age of empires 1/2 vs age of empires 3), so keeping that in mind, and the fact that i love the other total war games, should i get this?

ps. graphics dont matter as i most certainly will have to run this game on low settings anyways

There are plenty of interesting changes.  If you're a vet of the series, like you say you are, it should be refreshing to switch to the gun based combat (I know it was for me).  And although it is based around firearms mostly, there is still plenty of familiar elements to the combat.  It will remind you of using the Roman armies with their javelins somewhat, and you'll still see plenty of devastating charges and melee.  Things are a little bit fresher in this time period, so the changes are welcome if you've been around the series for a while.

Outside of just the battles, the campaign is much improved.  They take the elements of the cities that used to remain in the city itself outside of the city  and spread these across the territory.  You'll see churches, farms, wineries, bawdyhouses, and more, and this adds some strategy and makes it so that you'll fight around interesting elements instead of always the same sieges or fights out in the middle of nowhere that always seemed to happen in the Total War games before.  There's also different theatres to take (America and India are fully fleshed out like Europe) and there are also trade theatres that are naval only but provide you with big bonuses if you can lock the trade routes available there down.

Make sure you check out the mod scene.  It's still developing but Darthmod for Empire in particular is highly recommended.  The AI improvements make the game a ton better.

I wouldn't spend the money.  The mod scene always finds ways around that kind of bonus paid content.

I was surprised to see that out of CA but oh well.  The one thing I will say negatively about Empire is there are just not enough units in the game that switch things up from faction to faction.  To not include a couple more units when you're already very slim on selections was a bad move.  Anyways, they're adding some new units by patch and I expect the mod scene to fill in some of the gaps they left sooner or later.

I got the dlc and it is ehhh.

The new units just seem to combine rolls that two units already did.  Is that worth what I paid for it? Not really.
