Some of you might have heard that California recently tried to ban violent video game sales to minors. Fortunately it will fail just like it always has and Activision of all companies argued against it and disproved the fake studies the soccer moms who, instead of being a good parent, are trying to ban video games, had tried to make.

Probably 8 or 9 when I played halo CE the first time, maybe older but I guess that isn't the worst M game.  

The first game I remember playing was Wolfenstein 3D when I was like 4. (game was a four years old at that point) I'm not sure if the ESRB existed when that game came out, but it's rated M now.

When I was 11, which is when Half-Life was released. Before then, I didn't really play games.

Turning demons inside out with rocket launchers was an integral part of my childhood.

I think my first "M" rated game was Doom. 
 
Technically though, it would've been Wolfenstein 3D. But that has some legacy rating that doesn't exist now.

Uhhh... probably Duke Nukem 3D when I was like 9~ish? Not sure. The ESRB ratings weren't around then but it would be considered Mature now (oh the irony). Could have been Doom or Blood though... I can't remember.

Doom 2, when I was like....9??

Probably around 12 with Carmageddon or the first GTA. Might have played M games before that, but those are the first to come to mind..

Just remembered that I was playing Wolfenstein 3D well before that, but I didn't have much fun with it I guess. Looked amazing though. And the vote stays the same.
I would also like to point out that I bought none of those games myself, so banning sales to minors wouldn't have made any difference at all for me.
I'm not really opposed to a law like that, I just don't think it matters, except for a bunch of "think of the children!" people feeling good about themselves.

First I thought it was 14, but then I realized that I actually played Halo CE when I was nine or ten.

32 (I think I played an M rated game during the first year the ESRB existed). Yes, I'm old. :-)

I think I was about 11 or so, played Wolfenstein 3D on my aunts PC.

I think my first M game was my bro's copy of Duke 3D.  I used to love standing in front of a mirror and shrink-raying myself :D

Was the original MK an M-rated game?  I made some of my first friends in elementary school by sharing fatality lists.

Was around 10 when i played Manhunt,doesn't get more M-rated than that.

I fall in the 6-12 braket due to there not being an ESRB until I was 10.

I have never noticed what rating a game has, so I don't really know. I played Leisure Suit Larry 2 at the age of like 8 though, does that count?

My older brother had a copy of MK1 and MK2 for the SNES. Looking back on it, I don't know how he got it because my parents hated violent games. Must have been  6 or 7 at the time.

I played Doom on the 32X around '94 when I was about 8.  I think I played Snatcher on the Sega-CD a little before that (which maybe could have been rated M by today's standards).

I think the first time I played an M rated game was GTA 3 at the age of 8.

My first M rated game was the original GTA when I was 9 or 10

Was Counter Strike rated M? If so, 16.

Played the original GTA when I was like, 7 or something.

Whenever the first Resident Evil came out minus 1990. 
 
Actually reading the comments reminded me. The first Mortal Kombat game. I assume that counts? I still have it somewhere so I should probably check.

I was like 5 or 6 when I was at a friend I can't remember's house and he was playing some zombie game I don't even remember what the name of it is and let me have a turn. I remember nothing about the game except I think it was a woman character and some black dude was on the floor against a wall near a jail cell or something and he was alive or something but he died straight after talking to him. I really can't remember.

14. I think. That was definitely the first 18 rated game I owned. I'm sure I played GTA or something before then.

When Doom came out

It was my 12th Birthday when I convinced my mom to buy me Diablo 2 Battle Chest as well as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Pretty good birthday haul, all things considered.

I was 8 years old when i played doom.

I was seven when I played Metal Gear Solid. Not a killer yet!
