    Overview

EVE: The Lost One is the second installment in the EVE Series of multi-sight adventure games. The title was developed by C's Ware and was initially released for the Sega Saturn on March 12, 1998 before later being ported to the PlayStation and PC the same year. The game takes place three years after the events of EVE Burst Error and follows a new duo of protagonists. The first is Kyoko Kirino who is a rookie investigator for the Cabinet Research Office and the other is a mysterious criminal known as "Snake" who is responsible for a recent bombing.

Unlike the previous game, The Lost One was not not an eroge title and was not written by EVE Burst Error's creator, Hiroyuki Kanno. Instead the sequel was written by Kazuki Sakuraba who would later become famous for writing the Gosick light novels.
