The third game in the Fable series sets you with the task of overthrowing your own brother, the tyrant ruler of Albion, as the kingdom enters the industrial era.
Fable 3 is so glitchy!
I was expecting something so much better in Fable 3, but the glitches in it are terrible. My boyfriend and I cannot play a game without a glitch or lag, what so ever. I also dissaprove of the clothing and the fact when you're business partners, to give someone money, it takes your own; and the statistics on mine, as well as my friends constantly mess up. I believe the creators could have done a bit of a better job when they were making it. Though, I am am happy for the fact that you don't have to share a screen and can marry and have kids with your partner; but I also wish that the Gamestop people, would have given me the pre-ordered game as well. All in all, haha, Fable 3 is so glitchy, and it pisses me off.
I ran into a lot of glitches during my time playing it. Cutscenes that froze, moral choices which did not appear (causing me to restart from last save), horrible horrible frame rate drops (seriously, I can't believe how choppy working at bowerstone blacksmith would be. It becomes a problem when the timing based minigame gets choppy and caused me to mess up my strikes a lot), the handholding mechanic being really buggy, etc. I was surprised, because I don't remember Fable 2 having anywhere near as many technical issues as I encountered here.
I still had a lot of fun with the game though. This is all just single-player, I didn't try any co-op.
I've had all the framerate issues, the busted golden trail, and I've had 3 quests break on me straight away, leaving them open in my list. So I don't know what to think of the game. I did get some great enjoyment out of it, but I really can't pursue any more achievements... it's become a grind. I will say, though, that the writing and voice acting were top notch.
" I had a fair amount of glitchy & unpolished experiences in Fable 3. More so in coop than single player, but still. Anyways I said enough about that in our latest podcast. "Co op was great wasnt it?
my main issue is the disappearing/incorrect bread crumb trail. Because the town maps aren't accurate and there is no mini-map, the trail is the main form of guidance. It is then annoying that it is wrong so often. Other than that the game has been fine thus far.
Yeah it sucks.. here is what I have seen:
Slow down
Missing breadcrumbs
Dog is an idiot and you can't whistle for him sometimes
Jasper doesn't talk anymore
laggy blacksmith/lute/pie making
sometimes whoever you are escorting doesn't hold your hand and they don't follow you
" my main issue is the disappearing/incorrect bread crumb trail. Because the town maps aren't accurate and there is no mini-map, the trail is the main form of guidance. Which is too bad, because I still think Fable 3 is ultimately a good game. Way more charming then Fable 2, but the tech lags behind
ZombieKitty nailed the common problems.
I never expected Fable 3 to actually work and be playable really.
Which isn't far from the truth, my housemate is doing that board game quest and she can't enter the tower, the next bit just won't trigger.
Byebye 8 hours of playtime!
Well, at least I'm not the only person with Fable 3 lag. I didn't expect it to run perfectly, but I wasn't prepared for how broken it truly was. I had the much talked about lost breadcrumb trail, then there was the awful drop in frame rate (especially during the cutscenes, which started at the first frame of the opening scene), then there was screen freezing on top of the fact that the sound would go in and out at a moment's notice from normal to mute and back again. If that wasn't bad enough, I can't finish the final boss encounter because apparently there's something wrong with my disc. I know some of my gripes might also be due to the disc issue, but I'm just in awe of the state this game is currently in. Now I understand why GB gave Fable 3 that dubious award...
The worst part of it for me is the breadcrum trail failing to load. Sometimes it would even lead me in the opposite direction which lead to much frustration.
Fable 2 wasn't as laggy when i first played it but when i went back to it a couple months later saw a great deal of lag. The game would freeze whenever i got an achievement.
