What should I get and I know that there is a steam sale, just want to make sure, if it is more enjoyable playing on the PC or have less bugs?
Fallout: New Vegas
Game » consists of 25 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
Console or Pc
On the PC it seems pretty bug free for most of the part (bar some strange ones but nothing game breaking I've found). I still crashes after long periods of play but so far it's been fine. The next DLC is meant to bring a whole bunch of new fixes though so it could be better then. For the sake of getting some good mods though you should get it on PC at the least.
From my time with Fallout: New Vegas on PC, I've only experienced clipping bugs, which worked out for me since enemies were easier to kill. Obviously, others have experienced much more harsher bugs and glitches than I have so it really depends on your luck on either platform. Also, mods and community patches for the PC version of course. So chances are, the PC version is probably your best bet. I never played either of the console versions so I can't speak to that.
Edit: I've played through the PC version for over 160 hours. Also forgot to note that when something worse than clipping occurred, like crashing and whatnot, they were usually caused by some conflict between mods.
@eroticfishcake: and I am guessing it look graphically better too?ALL games look better on PC (provided that you've got the hardware for it). But yeah, there's a good number of texture packs over here(as well as some other great mods).
The thing about the bugs is that it's completely random. That's the power of gamebryo engine. In terms of script bugs and quests bugs, they are ironed out a lot by now, and in one or two weeks there will be a new patch that is supposed to fix even more in the stability/performance department. So pick up the cheapest version i'd say. Whatever platform i think you will enjoy the game, unless you are an addict to mods, then get it on the PC.
Go PC, you get mods, texture packs, community patches, ect.
Also make sure to get Project Nevada
It's abosultely shit on the 360, get the PC version. I've played the 360 version last year the load times can go for minutes, even between areas. I'm getting the PC version soon when I build my first PC.
Its not so buggy on PC, a couple of crashes, maybe a freeze here and there. You can use the console. And last but not least, mods, huge and huge amounts of mods. PC all the way.
PC. New Vegas looks beautiful running on Ultra. Calling a Fallout game beautiful is ridiculous I know, but it totally smokes the console version. Smooth 60fps and super fast load times when walking into rooms and new locations, not to mention really nice high res textures. When you are in a world as long as you are in a fallout game, graphics and texture quality DOES MATTER.
@DAFTPUNK: It's fuckin silly that people have to ask this. Any Bethesda RPG is always going to be a million times more enjoyable on PC.
When the game first came out, the PC version had far less issues but now that there has been patches, I'd say go with whatever you feel more comfy playing on for many hours at a time.
