This version of Fallout, if you buy it from Steam, will use Steamworks instead of GamesForWindows. This means you won't get any achievements on your Window's live account (that you may use with an Xbox 360), but you earn achievements on the Steamworks platform (which is completely seperate and uncontrolled by Microsoft). In Fallout 3 the game on both Steam and Games For Windows used the GFW/Xbox achievements instead of the steam achievements (steam's version probably wasn't out yet).

I like Steam, but I just bought the physical copy of New Vegas because I didn't want to wait till 2:00 goddamn am to play it only to find out that it's goddamn steam powered and I still have to till 2:00 goddamn am anyways. I mean, goddamn!

Also people stop hating I'm joking about steam bring assholes since I use eir services all the time, but this particular situation was a bit of a bummer :(

Checking on your profile, you say you're from Moscow? I've seen a handful of games that are Russia-specific, same with select German games due to local laws. Perhaps it's the same restriction in this case.

Have you tried ordering the game online? Is it available from the likes of gamestop.ru?

Failing that, know of any major retailers that will import the game for you?

Guess what, so does my pc collectors edition from gamestop. Thats right, even if you didn't buy it from steam you still have to tie the game to your steam account to play it on pc. If they had told me that in advance I would have just bought it on the 360. What dumb shit makes these decisions and then doesn't tell you about it? The box doesn't even have the steam logo on it or mention it in the manual but as soon as you install sure enough!
