So I just watched the 14 minutes video on Gamespot on Far Cry 3 just sold me on it. It looks to me like a AC but FPS, which with the changes they have done with Far Cry 2 have me super pumped.  I was not a fan of FC2 after everyone in the media would praise that game, hated the degrading guns, hated the fact that the AI could see you through foliage, hated the world and getting around. But from what I have seen all of these have been fixed (although don't know about the AI until ya play it).   
 
Just don't know what to play it on. I bought a new laptop a month ago that runs XCOM really well but don't know if thats going to mean much for FC3 but might still go PC for loading times I guess. Anyone think the 360 or PS3 versions would be worth picking up over a PC version?
 
Anyone else feel the way I do? 

Farcry is a series I've ignored up to this point but the E3 demos really piqued my interest and I plan to pick it up when it's a bit cheaper (given it's Ubisoft, that shouldn't be long). I do wonder if they were a bit heavy-handed in what they showed about the story, though.

I was sold when I saw the shark punching trailer. The fourteen minute video makes me think this could be my new favorite game, period. The tropical island of Just Cause with the ambient environment events and hunting of Red Dead, with the fire tech of Far Cry 2 and the graphics of Crysis and the exploration potential of Skyrim and the structure of Assassin's Creed, with first person real time combat...fuck, this could be the greatest game EVER.

Is this ever the case? Even Dark Souls wound up better on PC...

Anyway, I was really excited about this game when they first announced it; my excitement's lowered since then, but I'll still probably end up picking this up, just because I loved the absolute shit out of FC2.

I loved Far Cry 2.  I hope they fixed the aim acceleration.

Yeah i was kinda unsure on this game.. I liked aspects of 2, the thought was there but not so much the execution . And everything they have been putting out on this game has me weary like it looks cool but doesn't look that great but after hearing Ryan's impressions that piqued my interests, and I was pretty much sold not even 5 minutes into this video!

I was thinking maybe xbox for Co-op/MP but the PC will hopefully blow that version out of the shark infested water..

I just hope there aren't any spiders in this game, probably will be though :(

This makes me psyched because I remember in the original driving at breakneck speeds through the jungle and it just opening up into a thirty foot cliff and jumping out of said jeep and diving into the water below. Tons of fun. I'm glad its back to the jungle.

I liked the look of the 13 mins they showed , I was going to get the game already , I hope the story running through the game is compelling. I enjoyed the second game and it looks like the forever spawning camps may be fixed

Liked Far Cry. Loathed Far Cry 2 with every fiber of my being...

Looks like I'm back on-board for this one, though!

This peaked my intrest:

I loved FC2 but always thought there were no animals apart from zebras which is strange being in Africa. Love the RPG systems they have added could be sleeper hit of the year.

the far cry series is a flawed gem IMHO but I think Far cry 3 will fix that. From what ive seen so far(especially that 14 min trailer) it looks amazing. Im curious to see how high I can take the settings on my aging PC, but Ill end up getting it on the xbox for the achievements :D

Well, that preview completely sold me on the game. Looks like a Just Cause 2 from a first-person perspective. Hopefully it will live up to my newly built hype.
