Someone talk me out of buying it.

#1 Posted by mosdef (177 posts) -

I'm seriously considering buying this game. Someone please talk me out of it but I need somewhere to place my harvest moon/viva pinata energy.

#2 Posted by Xeirus (1305 posts) -

It's about farming, and you have dreads.

#3 Posted by nintendoeats (5975 posts) -

If you think that you'll enjoy it, you should buy it. Otherwise, don't.

#4 Posted by Cloudenvy (5891 posts) -

Buy a racing wheel.

#5 Posted by Colt45 (54 posts) -

I know I don't know you very well, but I'm confident in saying this: you're better than this. Don't do it, man. You have a lot to live for.

Also, maybe you should try Animal Crossing or, on a non-farming front, SimCity. Just, for the love of God, stay away from tractors.

Buy it! I want you to play this game. I'm sorry.

Play the demo on Gaikai

only if he's planning to use it to drive tractors using the racing wheel

wait for it to be like $5 on steam I did that with train simulator because I was gonna crash some trains but then I never even launched it. Don't regret my purchase though, what if some day I want to crash some trains?

I would pay upwards of $20 for that game.

I think you need to buy it. Then, you need to do a daily blog on Giant Bomb about how your farm is coming along. I want to see a video about every god damned head of lettuce, pumpkin, grain of wheat, and ear of corn accompanied by in depth commentary.

Actually if you want something that's considered a game you could get Minecraft and farm in that.

#12 Posted by Dagbiker (6976 posts) -

I doubt farming simulator is as fun as Viva Pinata.

Yes...YES!!!

Also Mos Def is the greatest.

... Why don't you have it already?

Get Dwarf Fortress. It's free, and it'll burn up that pseudo-farming energy. Also, sanity.

#17 Posted by Grilledcheez (3947 posts) -

Buy it

#18 Posted by Deusoma (3006 posts) -

This is important: This game assumes you actually know how running a real-life (contemporary) farm works, so it just gives you the tools and vehicles without ever really explaining what they do. If you don't already know how to do these things, you might not even be able to play this game.

#19 Posted by mandude (2669 posts) -

Just get Minecraft and download the combine harvester mod.

#20 Edited by mlarrabee (2962 posts) -

Buy Minecraft.

I've got a dope little farm with sugar cane, wheat, and chickens in the game myself.

EDIT: Although, since it's the Xbox version, my chickens disappear whenever I go further than sixty meters from them. So that's pretty cool.

Buy it. Hell buy ALL OF THEM.

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would definitely watch this. If you give up on this idea, do harvest moon instead, but still do a daily blog. That would be Fucking brilliant.

Buy a real tractor and pretend you are in a video game.

#26 Posted by Portis (1287 posts) -

Buy it! You can name your first new tractor "Ms. Phat Booty".

Just like the Mos Def single, you see.

I want to thank the Giant Bomb Community for helping me out of a really bad time in my life. You have talked me out of a really bad situation (no thanks to toxeia though - almost bought it because of ur post). I was on the verge of pressing the buy now button and decided to watch a youtube video of a guy BAILING HAY FOR 30MIN!!!! I immediately closed steam. I decided to pick up my Dwarf Fortress habit back up. Got a mean non irrigated strawberry patch growing. Again thank you for helping me before it was too late.

#30 Posted by Toxeia (729 posts) -

I was really hoping to have a daily blog to look forward to. Will there at least be a commentary DVD bonus for the non-irrigated strawberry patch?

#31 Posted by Sign (291 posts) -

Don't get it, Farming Simulator 2012 is right around the corner.

#32 Edited by benspyda (2034 posts) -

It's shite. So the decisions up to you I guess...

Try to get it through a iOS device with the steam app. That'll stop you from buying it
