Homepage missing header videos/stories

Not a huge deal but find it odd that no one else has mentioned this happening. It's been happening for me for the past 3-4 days. The top videos and stories that generally show up at the top of the homepage have been wonky. The last 3 days there have only been two showing most of the time (the biggest one being the one missing).

Tonight, however, all 3 are gone. It's just the list of latest stories with no header at all. Prior to this I thought they were maybe adopting more of Gamespot's homepage layout... except it looked broken of course.

That's a new one. Browser/OS? Tried clearing browser caches?

I'm using Firefox (the latest version 34.0.5). I checked in Safari and it has the same problem. Safari 8.0. I'm on a Macbook with Yosemite.

I got two videos showing up now. Still not right of course but it's something. One big video and then a long skinny one where 3 usually are.

@jslack: Everything seems fine on my end now. Both Chrome and Firefox are displaying everything as it should

No, it's still happening on mine. It's odd because it seems to only happen during the evening for me. It's always fine in the morning. Right now I only have two stories showing up top (when there should be 4).

@handlas: Indeed, we've been able to replicate this issue, and I'm working on it.

Want to do an experiment? Click one of the 2 header items. Then after you do that, click the GB logo to go back to the homepage. Does that fix the header?

Like clockwork it is down two only one story tonight (might be just because I'm on the site more in the evening). So I clicked on it and then clicked the GB logo. I had two stories! I clicked on the new story and then the GB logo. All is back to normal. Sweet.

@handlas: Ya, it's a dumb bug. Using an incognito window should bring it back, if it's still an issue. We were hoping that the issue was resolved in the push today.

@jslack I'm getting it as well but differently. After clicking the videos and then back to the homepage via the logo it went back to normal like it should, but now it's doing the same thing again. Weird. Using an incognito window didn't do anything.

An unrelated bug, but I've also been having problems replying to comments and forums posts. When I quote someone and try to reply my cursor freezes for a few seconds and won't let me type anything until it goes back to normal. This has been happening on and off for about a month now.

Oh, and I'm using Windows 7 and Chrome Version 39.0.2171.95 m

@stonyman65: Oh, and about the cursor thing. We had someone else report that a few days ago in here, and it seemed to be a version of chrome causing it. An update to chrome seems to have fixed it.

So it looks like this might have been related to a broken promo group. Can anyone confirm that this is still happening to them? I can't get it to happen anymore from my side.

@jslack: Seems to be working fine for me now as of 4:33 EST. I'll keep you updated if I see anything weird!

Afraid to say it is happening again tonight for me. I have no header at all. And, thus, the fix from before where you click on a story and then the logo can't be used either. I tried clicking on a story from the "Latest Stories" section and then the logo but that didn't work.

Again, no big bother to me but I'm sure you guys want to fix it.

Here's what it looks like for me in Firefox 34.0.5 (it's the same in private browsing):

It also displays this way (the single giant promo, that is) in Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.17498. The issue is not appearing for me in Chromium based browsers (Chrome version 39.0.2171.95 m (64-bit), and Opera 26.0.1656.60), even in incognito.

Edit: Chrome's messed up too, now that Patrick's live stream is over.

@jslack: Now the header is completely gone. It was working fine a few hours ago!

Same as everyone else, I thought it was some swanky new design lol

@jslack: I have the same issue as mentioned above. I'm using Chrome.
