  • Rick replied to the topic Giant Bomb UK Meet Up
Meeting new people is always nice. Still, travelling a long time to meet total strangers is not my cup of tea. I can do that in the local pub. And my fascination with GB is not that big. I still check Gamespot and IGN.

  • Why does everyone think the closing of 3DRealms is the end of Duke Nukem Forever?Come on! This is a new beginning! 3DRealms was clearly not up to the task to crack out another Duke game. It was taking too long. Take Two has got the license. They ask another developer to step in. Raven? Cliffy B? Within the year we could be playing the game!

  • Rick replied to the topic DLC is a scam?
Is downloadable content a Scam? Think about it, Fallout 3 was a shorter experience than Oblivion ever was. I suspect Bethesda of cutting some pieces out of the orgininal product and putting them back in later, making us effectively pay more fot it. It doesn't sound economically sound for a develloper releasing a game and than getting back to it to expand it further.

  • I've been a fan of single player mods for years. Back in the day I loved the custom made maps for Quake 1. I love people making good games even better with mods or Total Conversions. What are in your opinion the best single player mods / total conversions currently released.

  • Rick replied to the topic Dead Space , dead boring in the Dead Space board.
Come on. Dead Space isn't that great a game. It's an ok-game. Nothing more, nothing less. The atmosphere was dark.. and there were some scary moments here and there. But it's not an innovating game. It's basically Doom 3 in third person. The story sucked. Not many different enemies. Apart from the balde cutter thing, weapons were not so good. The NPC were boring, just standing around, argueing all the ...

  • Rick replied to the topic Fallout 3 seriously overrated?
It is a great game in its own right, but is it really a step forward? Let's see:- basically the same engine as in Oblivion- boring quests (go there, get that, kill that, repeat)- boring main storyline.- less side quests than Oblivion- boring graphics (sure it's a wasteland, but should everything look brownish / grey?)- not really a living, breathing world, NPC's just standing around (like in Morrowind and Oblivion)- ...

  • Shooting the antennas of giant fire Ants in the mission 'those' in Fallout 3 sure made me think back to the game 'It Came from the desert'...great game.. In that game ants were taking over a small town.

I admit it.
I am a player who stays in one area of the game world and snipes anyone I can.
I'sitting on a rock, or behind a door.
I enjoy it. Very much so.
I don't know why.

I confess it.
I know, I am scum.

A so so Hack 'N Slasher (PC)
Legend Hand of God is all about you ridding the world of evil by finding - you guessed it - the 'Hand of God'. Cliché cliché galore! This is standard Hack 'n Slash dungeon crawler fully mouse driven. RPG fans will feel right at home. There is hardly any learning ...

Civilization Revolution (PS3)
Reviewing Civilization is different from reviewing other games. It's not the graphics or the sound effects, things people are focussing on nowadays. It's not the fact that it is turn-based. It was done before. No. It's the concept that is so appealing. Or better, it's the feeling you get from ...
