Today is Canada day, which celebrates the joining of the British North American colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Province of Canada into the commonwealth kingdom of Canada, later to become the constitutional monarchy we know and love today.

In my city of Halifax there's lots of historical celebrations going on at the Citadel and Pier 21 with a huge fireworks display across the water in Dartmouth. I'll probably go see the fireworks this evening. How are you going to spend the nation's holiday?

Happy Canada Day to you, as well! I'm going to celebrate by doing nothing today out of appreciation for a beautiful country with some lovely people in it. :)

Happy Canada Day!

July 1st is always fun with fireworks, food and tiny Canadian flags.

As a Canadian now living in the US I'm looking forward to checking out 4th of July stuff!

@jslack: I got my tiny Canadian Flag for free with my groceries last week! I think the best part is all the college girls in their skin tight red and white outfits. *insert creepy Jeff picture*

Happy Canada Day, I'm drunk and enjoying this day before I move to Germany for a year, where obviously Canada Day is not a thing.

Ich liebe dich, Kanada.

Oh yes! I was in Canada last year and got to celebrate Canada Day right next to the Niagara Falls, it was a blast. I think I also spotted Tested's Will Smith too.

Happy Canaday, everyone who is associated with Canada. Now to watch some Kids in the Hall, clearly Canada's greatest export.
