If Giant Bomb weren't about games, chances are it would be the #1 source for energy drink news and ridiculous food recipes.  If you don't believe me... hamburger.  But I don't often talk about the food and drinks, but there are some insane food oddities that are on my wishlist, to put it one way.  Before I'm killed by a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, here are the 5 concoctions that I need to try before I fade into obscurity.
  1. The infamous Luther Burger.  There are various iterations of the burger, but they have one thing in common: the bun is replaced with glazed donuts.  There are a variety of places that serve them, but I'm going for this ballpark creation... because all food is better at the ballpark.  Plus, they use Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the ruler of all doughnuts and donuts alike.
  2. The burger theme continues with the 100 pound burger featured at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in my home state of Pennsylvania!  They serve burgers of all sizes, including a 6-pound burger with 5 pounds of stuff!  The massive 100-pound monstrosity is probably supposed to be for a large group, but I'd be honored tp have just a few pounds of that gigantic burger.
  3. I love deep fried food.  I also like butter.  But the two together?  Deep fried butter?  It sounds like the most disgusted thing I could ever possibly consume, but I so want to try it.  I'm sure this might become a fair staple by next year.  The deep fried Oreo/Twinkie/Snickers/Milky Way somehow made it.  By the way, deep fried Oreos are amazing!
  4. Here are two more things that together don't make any goddamn sense!  Chocolate and bacon.  Chocolate-covered bacon shouldn't work at all on paper, but for some reason it has become a reality... and a potentially good one, too.  I guess covering anything in chocolate will work, right?  Chocolate and tripe?  Nah!
  5. Finally, a delicacy that is truly the face of evil, the hamdog.  Hot dogs and hamburgers go well together on patriotic holidays, but to combine them into some Frankenstein monster of meat, casings, and condiments... I just have to see this for myself.  And someone decided to stick a fucking egg in there, too!  Seriously?
I'm hungry.  I'm gonna grab a few Snickers bars and dig out the deep fryer.

Hats and sluts always make for interesting water cooler conversations, but this is a video game site.  Claude wants me to talk about video games.

One of my most anticipated games of the year.
One of my most anticipated games of the year.
Yes, video games.  That's why we're all here.  So my gaming habits have shifted in the past few months ever since I got my new PC and my trusty Wii has been somewhat neglected and unfed for the past few months despite the 4 games I bought since I got my PC.  Borderlands, Left 4 Dead, Cities XL, and more reecently Team Fortress 2 have been my most played games of the fall which means my recent Wii purchases like Muramasa and A Boy and His Blob have been on the backburner lately and Left 4 Dead 2 is guaranteed to be a hit among me and people that are me.  But believe it or not, I was a Wii only guy up until this summer.  On a video game website nowadays, that's a rarity.  Most around these parts own a 360, a sizable amount own PS3s and/or gaming PCs, and I believe most Wii owners around here also own other systems.  The Wii is definitely looked at differently because of its casualness, limited graphical output, and waggle... a secondary console to many, yet the uniqueness of the Wii attracted me to it and actually brought me back into the console gaming scene after skipping the last generation for the most part.

I have a Wii.
I have a Wii.
It's a proven fact that I have a fondness for many of Nintendo's games and franchises.  My 3 favorite games of all-time are straight out of the Nintendo library, in particular from the big 3 franchises.  Yet I had no reason to buy a GameCube when it was around, nor did I want a PS2, although those things are all over the place and managed to appreciate a number of PS2 games over the years.  But back to Nintendo for a minute.  While a large group of gamers didn't accept the Wii as a viable platform, I embraced it with open arms.  I absolutely fell for the marketing ocean and found myself swimming in a stew of great Wii games like Wii Sports and Zelda: Twilight Princess.  The Wii also doubles as my GameCube so I can now say I have a small, but decent library of GameCube must-owns such as Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime.  For people like me who missed out on some truly great games last generation, the Wii is a fantastic machine.  Add the Virtual Console, some quality WiiWare games, and a underrated library of excellently unique 3rd party titles, the Wii suits my tastes well.  It's not for everyone, but the Wii is certainly for me.  It might be the best console for those who want to come back to gaming, in my opinion.  And sure the 360 and PS3 are great consoles in their own right, but they are very intimidating platforms because of the massive button count and the excessive amount of mature action games.

Then there's the trusty PC.  I've always had an attraction to the platform because it's pretty much the only platform where you can find quality strategy games and simulations.  Consoles were typically action oriented and sometimes I prefer to be more constructive and creative.  From 2000 until about 2005, most of my game time was split between The Sims, SimCity 4, and the RollerCoaster Tycoon games... so you know what games I were traditionally attracted to at the time.  Those games have almost limitless replayability and hold more value than most console games.  However, man can't live on Maxis and tycoon games alone.  That's where the Wii comes in.  I just couldn't go the entire decade without playing a new Mario, Zelda, or Metroid.  I had to slash dudes in No More Heroes, play tennis drunk in Wii Sports, and fight as my favorite characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  Zack & Wiki, MadWorld, Okami, de Blob, the list goes on.  Somehow I found 23 Wii games that I found worthy of owning, but the Wii is not perfect.  It is lacking in a few key genres.

Here's another surprise.  The game that brought me back to PC gaming was The Sims 3!  I know, an EA game that will suck all the money out of my bank account with its expansion packs and online store bullshit.  I absolutely had to return to the world of the virtual humans and since my old rig was pushing 7 years old, it was time for a shift.  Then I discovered Steam and my world has collapsed in on itself.  At first, Steam was going to be just for a select few games I was interested in like Audiosurf.  Then I saw the deals... I now own 15 Steam games of various shapes and sizes including some that were not even on my radar.  When they sell a game for $2.50 or a pack of quality games for dirt cheap, it's like legal piracy.  I love it!

And I do love playing video games no matter the platform.  While I'm in that odd Wii/PC group, I feel very satisfied with my choices.  The PC might be getting all the love at the moment because of my renewed interest in shooters and the indie game scene, but the Wii will always be at my side.  Yeah Left 4 Dead 2 is on my agenda, but so is New Super Mario Bros. Wii, a game I've been waiting to play for 20 fucking years!  A 2D Mario platformer?  What took so goddamn long?  And have you seen the Rabbids Go Home Quick Look?  That looks like it will be pure insanity.  Don't worry, Wii, I'll be wiping the dust off very soon.

The King of Video Games (no relation to the King of Cartoons) came up with quite the unusual topic.

@Video_Game_King said:

" I suggest you write an essay on what Bushwald Sexyface means to you :P. Oh, and maybe try to find out why so many women become sluts on Halloween. (My guess: to impress Bushwald Sexyface.) "

I had to do some major research for this one and unfortunately Giant Bomb does not have a Bushwald Sexyface page yet.  So Bushwald Sexyface means a... lot to me?  He has a green mustache and a sword-like weapon, most likely a sword.

Fuck it, let me state my appreciation for all the Halloween sluts out there.  As we all know, Halloween in recent years changed from scaring the shit out of people to humping a vampire nurse wearing a short skirt and midriff.  The slutification of Halloween is fine with me since I'm a guy that enjoys looking at people of the opposite sex.  There is also a downside... not everyone needs to slut it up because, well, not everyone can pull it off.  Also, I appreciate a good costume where you know there was time spent planning and making the costume.  Those who just wear black tights and some cat ears is not what I want to see... unless she's damn good looking.

So why do women become sluts on Halloween?  Short answer: alcohol.  Long answer: Bushwald Sexyface.

Luckily, guys have more creativity and usually keep their pants on.  Like these guys with cash to blow.

I decide to let you all decide on topics for my next blog and... and... I'm going to attempt to blog about the 3 suggestions, starting with this one by Satune

@Satune said:

" How about the major lack of hat shops now-a-days?I was just looking for a bowler hat for Halloween, but couldn't find anything.  Or maby just talk about the lack of variety of hats you see on people now? "

Hats it is.  Unfortunately I'm not a hat aficionado.  I, like every American, own a selection of hats that I rarely wear.  I do have a few classic baseball caps which I only wear during sporting events, if I remember.  So I'm not the guy to talk to about hatwear, although I do know of one store at a local mall that sells baseball hats.  If I were to search for a hat store with a more robust selection (top hats, fedoras, bowlers, even the sassy sombrero) I wouldn't know where to start.  However, virtual hats are becoming popular.  If you have a Xbox Live account, there's a chance that your Avatar is donning a stylish cap.  And lucky for Satune, I can talk about my free hat courtesy of Valve.

You see, I bought Team Fortress 2 on Friday and spent the weekend sucking ass and occasionally kicking ass... mostly sucking ass, though.  I'm a newbie in a sea of veteran achievement whores so I need to learn a few things.  Got some Steam achievements, saw Sweep being Sweep, good times.  There's also this Left 4 Dead 2 game coming out and if you're like me (and Sweep) you've already pre-ordered it via Steam... and since I now own TF2 and will own L4D2, I'm now the proud owner of Bill's hat in TF2.  It's a nifty level 10 beret that is tasteful and classy.

Pills here indeed.
Pills here indeed.
So I was given a free hat this weekend!  Did Satune look into the future and see me constantly playing Team Fortress 2?  Perhaps you can all see me in my lovely new hat this week and hopefully I can also pick up that Ghastly Gibus so I can knock off that final Halloween achievement before I go after the other 200+ I have yet to gain.  And that sentence could've been split into two or more sentences.

Tomorrow, a blog about Bushwald Sexyface!?  This might be worth the price of admission!

I'm having a bout of the lazy Fridays so I'm counting on you, the viewer or reader as you should be called.  If you know my blogging schedule, I will write my next blog on Tuesday and you get to choose the topic.  And it could be anything!  Yes, anything!  Video games, the gaming industry, politics, sports, religion, entertainment, whatever!  No topic is too stupid (except this one) or too complex for me!

So put your thinking caps on and feed me topics for I have nothing to talk about tonight.  Perhaps this will force me to write something insightful for once.
