So, I'm going through and renaming the pages that I can.  Here are the threads where most of the stuff was changed.

 http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-21-moar-pages/416850/#6
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-final-fantasy-chronicles/416853/#1
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-23-pages/415706/#2
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-a-few-pages/414449/#2
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/13-pages-to-delete/413115/#5
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-5-pages/412915/#2
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-mega-man-anniversary-collection-and-mega-man-x-collection/416752/#7
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-31-more-pages/416908/#2
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/delete-32-new-pages/417762/#5
http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/delete-combine-requests/34/around-20-more-to-delete/418175/#2

I may have missed some.  But I think that's the bulk of them.  So here's what you can do to help.

  1. If you click a link to a game and the title of the page is not "Delete," that means it's (obviously) already been renamed to show up in the database.  All the text on such pages is still in tact, but many of the associations have been removed.  Feel free to add developer, franchise, concept, etc info back to these pages.
  2.   If you click a link to a game and the title of the page is still "Delete," and you feel that it should be restored, this is the thread to bring it up for discussion.
  3. If you click a link to a game and get a 500 Luchadeer page, that page was permanently deleted.  Please bring it up for discussion here before simply creating it again.

Generally I'm going to stay out of the debate, but I'll make the necessary changes to pages that you guys decide should be kept.  I've already done some of the major ones like the Mega Man collections and Super Mario All-Stars.

The "Around 40 More Compilations" thread was before the new rules were instated, I believe.

So was:

To be clear: It's only on-disc compilations we're bringing back, right?

@Unknown_Pleasures:  The rules regarding special editions and direct ports still apply. For the rest of the stuff, we're going on what Jeff said from the other thread.

@StarFoxA:  Renamed all those pages except Centipede/ Millipede pack which is a collection that doesn't need a separate page.

@mracoon: I don't see what makes it different from any of the others. It's two games combined onto a single cartridge along with a centralized interface, correct?

@mracoon: Then there must have been some staff-approved change that the rest of us don't know about. That kind of compilation would have been considered acceptable before the recent crackdown on compilations.

I don't anything about it but it just looks like a pack which contains centipede and millipede without any sort of interface to link the two games. As Jeff said:

" Actual compilations have always been welcome in our system, and this is something we've addressed in the past. The things we don't want are the bargain bin bundle packs like the "Desert Strike and Jungle Strike" game page in that list above. I'm sorry if this hasn't been clear in the past, but as I said, we've answered this specific question before.

Ask yourself questions like "would this product be covered in an editorial capacity?" or "is this an object that someone would add to a collection list, or would they add the individual games found in the compilation?" when dealing with things like this. It's usually fairly obvious which ones stay and which ones go. Anything that involves three DVD cases wrapped in a crappy cardboard sleeve is going to get deleted. "

If you're saying the compilation does in fact have some sort feature which differentiates it from being a bundle then I'll restore the page.

There's an interface. Millipede hadn't been released for the Game Boy previously, so they couldn't just bundle two cartridges together. They put them both on the same cart and added a menu to select the game.

@LordAndrew: Done.  Although I can't get a plus sign to work on the title.  So I had to go with an ampersand.

Provided that they aren't just repackaged games. (Such as bundling game discs)

These still need to be remade/renamed. Unfortunately I don't have time to do it myself at the moment.

@TMThomsen: Dragon Quest I & II is a dupe, so it should be deleted.
