Can you post gifs without the need for clicking it?

I'm guessing since the new site is not HTML based, posting gifs without needing to click them has gone. Is it ever coming back? Do gifs take a lot of bandwidth which is why they're not allowed to be posted without clicking?

Feels weird having to specify in the caption that a picture is a gif.

What do I right click? Images on the internet, files from my computer, or my previously uploaded images on here?

It keeps saying:

"Your paste contained improperly embedded images. Please use the image button to embed images."

Just drag and drop from a site like tumblr. Will not work from your computer.
