Sometimes finding the release date for an older games can be troublesome, post your sources here so that everyone can use them.

http://www.mobygames.com <--- they list some old games with their precise release date but far from all

Wikipedia's pretty good: it features dates for Japanese, American and European releases and all of the ones I've seen so far match up with other websites. The oldest I've found to date is the Japanese release of Final Fantasy III (April 27th, 1990), but I should think it'll go back further depending on the game in question.

Just in case anyone doesn't know, GameFAQs and GameSpot use the same database, so there's no need to check both sites.  I prefer the way GameFAQs presents release dates, so that's the one I use.

MobyGames and IGN are also good sources for information. Wikipedia may also work; but since everyone can edit it without having to go through a moderation process, some information could be inaccurate or even completely wrong.

I don't like going out with the old ones, I prefer younger more agile games.
