Xbox One user. Though feels like I'm missing out... no time anyway lol.

What happened 8 years ago? I must know
This website was founded
Happy first post, by the way!
@ericjasonwade: *snaps fingers*
*a bass beat starts up*
I was 16. Sitting in the dark.
Kotaku wasn't cutting it, I needed a new spark..
for games. My phone lit up, it was so bright
This podcast starting playing and it was so tight
Ryan Davis, welcoming me to the Bombcast
The sweet comedy and news left me aghast
So yeah, I remember it to this day
The day Giant Bomb entered the fray
So where was I when they dropped the bomb?
Sitting in a car with my mom
I'm out of here. Catch y'all lata
@cerberus3dog: It's eight years later and now Tony Hawk is no longer a skater.
That's the only rhyme I had so... Time to read Air Force Gator?
(Well done btw!)
The old times were the best times, that's where I'm at
Podcasts popped off with a funky drink chat
Back in the spring of 2008
Jeffrey Gerstmann'd been canned For his Kane and Lynch hate
But they started a new thing, better than the old spot
Talking Cobra and G2 and which bevs they thought hot
If you don't know site history you look like a clown
Before the Bomb got built the arrow pointed down
Now it's 2016 and the years have flown by
Lost the big man in '13, and that made me cry
But the bomb keeps on ticking while other sites fizzle
The torrent of games journalism slowed to a drizzle
And that's why we give thanks for our home, Giant Bomb
Game content on a website, not a black CD-ROM
I've said all I wanted, I ain't got no more
But I'll be back to rap atcha in 2024.
Suddenly, a keystyle thread. *shrug* Why not?
---
2007, Kane & Lynch was the game
An honest review clinched the shame
that was placed on the Gamespot name
But a year later a bomb's fuse was lit, history writ
First there was the Gerst, the Rap Man, too human, too legit
Then Ryan Davis came to save us with his razor wit
Vinny Caravella, hella fella! Adventure game? He'll quick look it
Brad Shoemaker rounds it out, a mellow man without a doubt
The OG four, the first to be, the first chapter of bomb history
Fuck, it's midnight, I should wrap this dumb post up
Fuck rhyming, I'm tired
Shout out to French Stewart
Peace
I tried to include some hot rhymes multiple times, but no matter what I did, whatever I put on the grid, it turned depressing and I'm guessing weirdly political.
And that's just unforgivable.
I was 21 when I found this site.
Alone, on my computer in the middle of the night.
Not out drinking, just sitting in remaining out so sight.
I've enjoyed this community, the gaming I've had has been more than alright.
It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, we endured our share of blight.
But that's okay, it made us stronger, more ready for a fight.
Here's to the next 8 years, may they be even more bright!
Found the bombcast on Itunes sometime in 2010.
Listened to the podcast for a while before coming here, but don't know exactly when.
I checked out the forums and the duders were ok.
The staff did too, so I didn't split and chose to stay.
A lot can happen in 8 years. 8 Years ago I had depression and was living on wellfare. I was single and felt alone. I had never had a job and had no money and could barely afford food. Today I am married and have a child, I own my own apartment, my depression is over and while I did just loose my job I have been working for 6 years and while I make very little money I at least have enough to get by and not worry about not having food and even if I have put a stop on all gaming related purchases due to loosing my job I have ammassed a huge collection of games over the years that I've bought on steam sales and such to last me a decade.
The site has changed as well. It's still good but not as great as during the Whiskey Media days. I miss Ryan and the Tested crew and having Vinny in the same office as Jeff. Persona 4 Endurance Run that was the best piece of internet content ever created. I still like what they have done like Metal Gear Scanlon. I just finished it before my gold subsciption expired, but it doesn't feel the same anymore.
