I'm probably late to the party with this though, but I did a search and didn't see anything.
If you are like me with multiple harddrives, and over 100GB of games installed from steam. You need to use this! Steam Mover. Make sure to read all the cons before you try it. It may not work with your computer.
This allows you to move games you have downloaded from steam from your main HDD and to a secondary one.
Amazing tool for Steam users
Thanks, i'll keep it bookmarked!
Thankfully, not all my games are steam games (i have Origin games and hard non-steam copies), so i install the latter on my big external HDDs. Steam has 150 GBs of D:/ to use
This sounds amazing. Is there a confirmed list of games that won't move? I want to move over L4D2 and Team Fortress but don't want to mess anything up. It does mention it won't move certain valve games.
Anything that has its own folder. If it shows up on the screen when you run the exe, it will move it.This sounds amazing. Is there a confirmed list of games that won't move? i just copy/paste my Steam folder to the new harddrive, delete all files and folders except "Steam.exe" and the "steamapps" folder, run the Steam.exe on the new drive and it'll install Steam to that drive.
