When people buy a game, are they more likely to start playing the singleplayer or the multiplayer aspect of it first?
Answer me this.
The first thing I do is take the instruction manual out and read page 8 and then page 17. Then I take the disk out of the case and throw it out the window, snap the case in half and watch scary movie 2 on DVD. Obviously sometimes depending on the game I'll watch police academy 4 instead.
" Riddle me this, Batman! But single player, always. "You beat me to it, you bastard!
In response to the topic, it all depends. I usually play at least a little bit of Single Player first though. The last game I played where I started out in Multiplayer was COD4, and that was a long time ago.
Singleplayer... i just prefer it because it actually has,what is it called...plot, yeah thats right...in most cases anyway.
" Singleplayer... i just prefer it because it actually has,what is it called...plot, yeah thats right...in most cases anyway. "Pfffft plots are over-rated.
I usually always play single player first. Not only does it teach me the controls and how to play the game, but people like to sometimes discuss the story of a game in multiplayer, and I'd rather finish it first to avoid spoilers (in the rare instances when I don't have everyone muted!).
call of duty multiplayer. bioshock 2 single player.
Most cases single player becasue thats what the focal point is, but there are games that are very muliplayer based.
We all know this though
" In most cases though, you would pick? "In most cases I have no choice but to pick single player because more than 50% of the games I own do not have multiplayer.
I always play the single player first and then once I complete the game I move on to the multiplayer action.
It truly does depend on the game for me, but I'd say more often than not I play the single first. If I'm hyped on the multiplayer aspect of a game, I'll normally jump into that first, then play some of the sinplayer at some point later.
For example;
- I've played 80+ hours of Halo: Reach multiplayer. I didn't play any of the campaign until nearly a month after release and that was for about an hour and a half to get a certain daily challenge -- still haven't played anymore of it.
- In my beloved Blur, I played the multiplayer exclusively for a few months before I decided to play the single player. (I was enjoying the multiplayer so much, I nearly forgot it had a single player mode altogether.)
- With Motorstorm: Pacific Rift I nearly played all of the single player events (and some DLC events) before I ever touched the multiplayer. And that was quite awhile because it took me a long time to get to the last race events in the game.
