Anyone else in the UK having XBL trouble?

Sometimes its totally fine, but others its running REALLY slow!! Like to the point of menus not loading and random messages coming up and signing me out! Sometimes not even an error code, just 'we could not sign you into Xbox Live'!!  
My housemate is having th same problem so I know it's not just our xbox's, but is it an area thing? We're in the North East of England if anyone else is having trouble!!

I'm not, but I saw my friend complaining on Facebook about it earlier so maybe there's something to it. He's North West, if it matters.

Not been on there for the last two days but I'm in the midlands on a wired 20Mb connection shared with a number of other machines and I haven't had any problems.

Its very touch n go @ th mo like, I managed 2 download Unleashed 2 and Enslaved in like 5 minutes, but then it goes to a standstill and signs me out!
