I'm unreasonably excited about the Boogerman 20th Anniversary Kickstarter.

I played the hell out of the original as a kid, and I honestly don't know why. The humor was dumb, the controls weren't great, but I couldn't stop playing. Cool design and animation, along with great music and creative levels might've had something to do with it. Hopefully I'm not the only one with legitimately great memories.

The concept images look great and there's some talent behind it. I'm in, man.

I never found gross-out humour all that entertaining. Even as a kid I just didn't get that games appeal... still, I hope it gets funded for the fans sake.

Dude what. That's great! I remember seeing this in Gamepro or something and really wanting it.

Good Lord why? Aside from a little nostalgia this has zero appeal.

Oh god. How is this a thing!? "Remember how great Boogerman was?" is a set of words I can't imagine anybody ever saying.

I remember seeing the SNES game at my local rental place. It looked kinda dumb. Was it in any way good?

I didn't ask for this.

I didn't think anyone did. Boogerman is a relic of the 1990s era of gross-out cartoons for kids.

I think I have more nostalgia for it because it's something I grew up with, not necessarily because it was a great game. It was a totally serviceable platformer with a crude gimmick but I think Earthworm Jim is tops for this era.

@vance_helsing: I enjoyed the challenge and thought it was better than those crappy mascot platformers. But you know... I was 9 at the time so I don't know what that tells you.

@csl316: Izzy's Quest for the Olympic Rings IS pretty shit. I should know, I wasted too much of my allowance on that.

That's pretty neat to see them bringing it back.

I remember as a kid, every time I went to the rental store it was always out. Never got a chance to try it out back on the Genesis. This makes me miss the days of "renting" video games.
