Bottom Bar, quest bar help

Hello everyone. There is this icon on the bottom bar or quest bar that shows a person with a number next to it. What does it mean. It has got me puzzled ever since. Thanks for the help.

I believe the Icon your talking about tells you how many people that you are following are online.

People your following. Click on it i promise it wont bite.
