Overall, pretty good list I thought.
Please, Pelase dont read the List first, you wont get whats going on, and im getting real tired of trying to explain to everyone what this list is about because they wont read the article or they wont read this post explaining what it actually is.
I feel I must Explain,
read the article, there talking about the descriptions of the games being metaphors to explaining the console. Like they said for Fallout 3 and 360.
"Provide stacks of variety and loads of fun things to do.
Are technically a bit of a mess.
Bring you into contact with quite a lot of rubbish, unconvincing, and fairly irritating people you can shoot "
Both the game and the console provide stacks of fun things to do, they both are technically a mess (Fallout 3 has lots of bugs, and 360 has lots of hardware failures.) and both bring you into contact with alot of annoying people you wanna kill, in the game Fallout 3, and XBOX Live.
PSOne
Summed up by: Resident Evil
Both game and platform:
Created a revelation in mature gaming.
Jumped out of the shadows and scared the crap out of everyone.
Shaped the future perception of gaming.
In hindsight, were a little bit scrappy compared to the competition.
Saturn
Summed up by: NiGHTS
Both game and platform:
Occasionally achieved fantastic things through great developer effort.
Failed to impress a lot of people regardless.
Only really pretended to be 3D.
Nintendo 64
Summed up by: Killer Instinct Gold
Both game and platform:
Had eye-popping visual prowess.
Got delayed for so long that the excitement had died down by release.
Were ham-strung by being too tied to old-school design ideas.
PS2
Summed up by: TimeSplitters 2
Both game and platform:
Were loved by everyone.
Lasted for ages.
Dissapointed with the launch of part three.
Made us wait until part three for proper online multiplayer. And even then, rival platforms did it better.
Xbox
Summed up by: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Both game and platform:
Were physically massive.
Were a bit ugly.
Were packed with new ideas.
Representated a new, powerful market rivalry and made Sony fanboys sad.
Gamecube
Summed up by: Super Mario Sunshine
Both game and platform:
Were bold, striking and colourful.
Involved using a weird-looking new gadget.
Weren't as much fun as the previous one.
PS3
Summed up by: LittleBigPlanet
Both game and platform:
Are capable of stunningly beautiful visuals.
Are all about clever creativity.
Are complicated to use to the point of frustration.
Sold disappointingly at launch despite massive hype.
Xbox 360
Summed up by: Fallout 3
Both game and platform:
Provide stacks of variety and loads of fun things to do.
Are technically a bit of a mess.
Bring you into contact with quite a lot of rubbish, unconvincing, and fairly irritating people you can shoot.
Wii
Summed up by: Red Steel
Both game and platform:
Promised a world of childhood gaming dreams realised.
Are hampered by rushed out, half-arsed third-party development and crap controls.
Are famed for vomit-worthy graphics.
PC
Summed up by: Crysis
Both game and platform:
Are a technical tour de force in excess of consoles' capabilities.
Are a frustrating hardware upgrade nightmare.
Are now bowing to the pressures of the console market, despite much brave defiance.
