For those of you who made GOTY lists what have you learned?

Learned about yourself to be specific.  I learned I love crazy character-action games and it appears to be one of my favourite genres.  What of you?

That I don't play nearly enough games to make a GOTY list.

That I'm still a Blizzard fanboy.

That I'm pretentious and use terms like "immersion" and "implied subtext of emergent narrative" when talking about a cowboy game.
 
Also, that said cowboy game deserves to be admired by pretentious types who talk about immersion, and people that love games in general.

That my GOTY list still continues to not look anything like 99% of every other GOTY list that gets made.

That I don't remember and haven't played hardly any games that came out this year...

Mass Effect 2 is awesome!

I have learned that my lists are always the best. 

That even though I really enjoyed RDR there has been too many other good games this year so it won't even make the top 10.

I learned that I'm too indecisive to make a GoTY list that I really feel happy with.

That last year was better? (at least for the pc)

That more of the better games in this console generation are released in odd numbered years

That if I had to prostitute myself to a developer, Bioware would be my first choice.

That lists are dumb

Downloadable games are getting better and better every year.

I've noticed that there really haven't been enough games I've loved this year.  My favorites came out near the start of the year and it has been pretty disappointing since.  I don't think it's been a terrible year; there have been plenty of good games, just not great ones.  Maybe I'm just getting more picky, or the sequel overload is starting to wear thin.

That my 2010 was sadly devoid of new or exciting gaming experiences, save for a few gems such as Mass Effect 2.

That GOTY lists are retarded and make virtually no sense.

Geeze. Sure is a lot of sticks in this mud.

I like being able to plan what I'm going to do ahead of time. 
It's really hard to measure different types of games against one another.

I like the people that are pissed off at those who make lists. 
Calm down guys.

Consider this a preview: I learned that I have a demon who shall never stop haunting me.

I learned not to listen to reviews.
 
Kinect games = awesome.
 
Castlevania = awesome
 
etc.
 
I've also rediscovered that, when it comes down to it, games ARE about having fun, not just about graphics or the "experience".
