The past few days I've given serious thought to my New Year's Resolutions. Here's what I got so far:

1. Play more Xbox live.

2. Renew Netflix to watch through the Xbox.

3. Try one game per month from Steam, that I normally would never play, just to broaden my horizons.

4. Beat my high score on Left 4 Dead 2.

5. Get to dragon in Achaea, the text game I play in between turns on Xbox.

And that's it so far. Suggestions? Thanks!

Mine is to remember to have fun playing games. I have a large enough backlog of games that I'm tempted to simply burn through them for the sake of finishing them. That would be silly. Even if I finish 10 games, that won't mean anywhere near as much to me as having fun with 1 game.

Get 100% on Just Cause 2 or at least somewhere in the 90s.

My plan is as follows:

  1. Discover every area
  2. Get 100% on every area
  3. Collect all the blue things
  4. Mine every intersection and bridge for collectibles or destructible things

I should be set after that.

Totally agree with enjoying games instead of buring through backlog. Also I want to beat the rest of the main megaman games. I've completed 2,3,8,9 and 10. I guess that's not a resolution but more of a goal.

1. Replace my Xbox 360 that died and then mysteriously came back to life, and then died again (this time for good, I believe).

2. Buy a PS3.

3. Finish The storylines of every class in The Old Republic.

4. Finish the entire main quest in Skyrim and put at least 150 hours into the game.

5. Play through the entirety of The Witcher 2.

As you can probably tell, I have issues with completing games. I am not good with finishing my games. I want to change that!

i'll be gaming every chance i get, without a doubt. but my real resolution is to write something video game related every week. this could be reviews, blogs, cover letters for jobs, or even fun experimental pieces like hypothetical ads, press releases and email campaigns for games. i'm trying to build a portfolio of gaming related writing.
