Edit: If mods want to close this thread it's fine, I hadn't noticed there was already one.

WTF!? There might not be a stream. Dude, that sucks. Real bummer.

From twitter: https://twitter.com/giantbomb/status/344333962224742400

Update: Maybe-sorta-stream?!

Update 2: Nevermind, no show :( Love you GB!!!

#3 Posted by Blackmoore (254 posts) -

Totally fucked. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Best of luck duders.

#4 Posted by BigDaddyTool (33 posts) -

Why must people be so shitty? Really sucks for the guys, although I imagine CBSi had everything insured. Still...

#5 Posted by canoraid (1 posts) -

Only question is, is it a heist, or a caper?

#6 Posted by golguin (4050 posts) -

Wasn't Vinny joking about getting the equipment stolen a few days ago?

#7 Posted by ReddenBlack (124 posts) -

There are two good things about the situation 1) they work for cbs and 2) they are in la, about 15 minuets from cbs television city, which has every kind of broadcasting equipment imaginable. This is one of the rare situations of having big coporate overlords gives you an advantage over a small indie site

Watch out for duplicate threads, guys. The Mods are being especially lock-happy today.

There's a discussion about this already over here...

#9 Edited by chrismafuchris (1080 posts) -

If they find the guy who did this, I hope they snap his fucking neck and record it for everyone to see.

#11 Edited by insane_shadowblade85 (1530 posts) -

This will affect things in the office if they don't get it back. Also, this is why you don't trust people with your stuff.

#12 Posted by Make_Me_Mad (3116 posts) -

This is why purposely staying in crazy drug dens might not be the best idea when you've got tons of expensive equipment. This sucks, but at least none of the guys were there/got caught up in the robbery. Could have been a way worse night.

#13 Posted by jasius (136 posts) -

Talk about stealing the show eh? heh too soon?

Now i remember that, kinda funny in a very sad way.

They were joking about it on the last podcast. Kind of strange that it actually happened...

#16 Edited by Zeik (2761 posts) -

@make_me_mad: But their stuff didn't get stolen until they stopped going to crazy drug dens. Maybe they pissed off some kind of crime boss.

#17 Edited by RE_Player1 (7526 posts) -

Guaranteed if they are still with CBSi next E3 they'll be rolled up in the same place as Gamespot for E3. Two clusterfucks in a row.

#18 Posted by Gunslinger0130 (241 posts) -

Totally sucks but maybe the'll get a bit more of a chill e3 out of it?

Silver lining?

Anyone?

#19 Posted by Beanpants (64 posts) -

Maybe keep an eye on LA area craigslist pages for people trying to sell off a tri-caster and camera equip?

That would be pretty cool if they got help from CBS Television City.

#21 Posted by Lego_My_Eggo (1066 posts) -

That sucks, and im sure there not going to sleep comfortably knowing that someone just walked right in there not to long ago and stole there stuff. Hopefully nothing irreplaceable was stolen from the duders and we solve this #E3mystery.

#22 Posted by Homeslice (571 posts) -

They fucked with the wrong crew.

We'll be scouring LA used goods boards for the foreseeable future.

You fuck with us, you get FUCKED with!

This is ultimately the only important take away. A tangential question arises, can one know whether or not if it is a caper or a heist from the victims point of view?

But seriously, this is fucked.

#24 Posted by zkillz (93 posts) -

A cunning heist.

#25 Posted by EquitasInvictus (2030 posts) -

This a really unfortunate turn of events and it'll probably make tomorrow incredibly difficult for them, but I'm confident everything is going to work out for them once the next 24 hours blow over.

Call me a conspiracy theorist (or more likely paranoid)...

but Tweeting clearly identifiable pictures of your base location, then disappearing out all day on a publicly available schedule, leaving said location empty.... seemed like a very bad idea to me at the time!

It's a legitimate film studio with supposedly a guard on duty to let people into the building. It's several orders magnitude more secure then last years location.

#28 Posted by Matthew (1914 posts) -

@defade: save for the fact there was no clear exterior shot of the building posted, the only outside shot that was taken was a fairly generic loading dock, and true only thing we ever saw was individual rooms being shot. If anything, its even stranger due to the fact they're actually in a place that is a designated studio, as discussed on the bomb cast this week.

I guess some assholes just saw them unloading expensive looking stuff and decided to steal it while they were out.

#30 Posted by ThePickle (4169 posts) -

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, THEIF.

Seriously, I'm thinking about Vinny getting mad/sad and it's getting me mad/sad.

Fingers crossed, I'd be willing to just give this one to 'em. If they can't easily get shit back up and running, take the few days, have an exciting E3 where they just meet with the people they wanna see, bring back some stories. I hate it when plans get wrecked like this. All the best to them, hope they get to take it easy.

#32 Edited by Beforet (2934 posts) -

That's really terrible. And it was such a good first day, too! I hope the poor sons of bitches who stole it were selling it for bread cash or something at least approaching decent.

#33 Edited by JoeyRavn (4983 posts) -

Two weeks ago, Jeff talked about pulling out a big heist à la The Fast and the Furious. It involved hijacking the truck with their equipment riding horses.

Now this happens. Coincidence? I think not, Mr. Gerstmann.

In all seriousness, it sucks for them. They've put so much effort into making E3 great and now some sons of bitches go and spoil the party for everyone. Catapult them to the sun, I say.

#34 Posted by TurboMan (7734 posts) -

Drew's probably already on the case and is about to hunt these fuckers down.

A big gun.

Well, that is too bad.

On happier news, I am pleased to announce my brand new EXCLUSIVE E3 livestream happening right now. I am using some new equipment I recently... uhhh... acquired.
