Good 800$ hdtv for gaming?
LG is top of the line here in Canada every one recommends it. Besides i rather support a Canadian company right now." For that price then it's perfectly fine. I would suggest to look at different brands before you make your final decision. "
and here is samsung 400$ more
for same price and specs actually lg has better response time so with samsung your paying for logo.

I recently purchased a Toshiba Regza XV 635 D 37" after a lot of research and comparison and am VERY happy with it (very nice black levels), although (as is usually the case) bad configuration can really mess up your image.
For $800 bucks, I would think there's a better deal than the TV you linked.
I bought my 42 inch for 500 at circuit city. a year before they went out of business. Look around. 500 hdtv, with 300 to spend can get you an extra console, or a nice surround sound system.
Samsung baby. I am sure you can get a bigger screen. 120 hz, is probably the reason that tv is not bigger. Trust me, not worth it, especially if it is going to be for gaming. Go bigger, it sure is a nice TV but you can get at least 40 inches, if not 46.

"The samsung is only 60,000:1 vs the lg 80,000:1
and i have small room 30" is to big as now.
" Waste of fucking money. Edit: Oh, didn't realize we were talking worthless Canadian dollars. =) "LOL and our NZ dollar is now 50% higher than then it was against the US 6 months ago. LOLOL We can now get games for heaps cheaper off Steam!
" @TheHBK said:i see, well, i was always happy with 50,000, plus thats not a big deal if you calibrate your tv. Also, there is no such thing as too big a tv. you will regret it later, trust me, you dont regret going bigger." Samsung baby. Dynamic contrast is a foolish thing to compare. One set could just be dimming the back light more than the other. Find the static contrast ratio. It's bullshit that they bump up their specs like they do." @TheHBK said:
