help setting up my tv as a monitor

This is why I don't like messing with a PC & TV.  Are you using XP?  I once used the VGA connection in my LCD flat screen to plug a computer into it just for fun. It's really not all that interesting. The resolution is still weird & doesn't seem to work all that well. I would look at getting an HD monitor & that will cure what ails ya.
