Like, 3D models. Not the other kind, pervert. I just want my life to be Yu-Gi-Oh, and game developers seem to be trying their hardest to make sure my dream will never be realized. Is it too much to ask for? You'd think Blizzard would've gotten on this track with Hearthstone, but...at least those rectangles are really well-animated.

And, no, Eye of Judgement doesn't count. That's not a real game.

Well cause... why play card games when you can play a real game like an RPG or something? Cards are just representative of stuff, might as well replace that with gameplay.

@nonused: Uhm, you mean. Turn based games? There are kind of a lot of those around. Go play Pokemon or something.

Because you'd be constantly reminded that you could be playing a real computer game instead.

I definitely agree when they make them into computer games. I don't get why they still maintain this card game look, I guess because it's what the audience is used to?

Probably that and you are making the game for way cheaper this way.

@kidavenger: Ehhhhh, that's not really a CCG. I dig it , though. Thanks for sharing.

Also, I didn't know it was "Everybody Be Down on CCGs" time.

@tobbrobb: I've played all the Pokémon. There's nothing left.

It's funny that you ask this because it's a question I've had to consider and ask myself. I think the reason for the most part is simply because it would add a significant cost to development. My game's trailer shows part of what you're looking for, but besides attack animations I just don't think we would be able to put character models into the game as well. I'm with you though, it would be suhweet!

It's not a real game, because.. it's a CCG? But you want a CCG. So.. I don't understand.

I'm guessing, 'it's not a real game' because he didn't like it, not because it's a CCG.

Wasn't Metal Gear Ac!d kind of a mix between a card game and an actual game?

@mikkaq: Even RPGs with really in-depth and strategic battle systems don't behave much like a card game. There may be similar concepts like upkeep for mana or land, or resurrecting units, but many of the super specific ways card games have you go about doing these things just seen't emulated in RPGs.

'Cus when you have hundreds (or in some cases thousands) of creatures featured in your CCG, creating the bare minimum of a model for each one, with a idle, attack and defeat animation would be crazy time consuming and would likely cost a lot more than what you could get in return for your investment. Not to mention adding different spell effects for any non-creature cards.
