I get a 2 week ban for defending myself, this is ridiculous

In one of the Diablo 3 threads, I got in an argument with another poster. He called me a fucking cunt, so in response I called him a fucking faggot.

Now keep in mind that all of his responses to me were littered with personal attacks, such as saying that I was stupid and an idiot simply because I do not like Diablo 3. I did not attack him personally in any way, other than calling him a faggot after he called me a cunt, which is in my mind, equally offensive remarks.

So he was the instigator, attacked me on numerous occasions, and calls me a cunt and gets no ban, but I call him a faggot one time and get a 2 week ban. How is this in any way defensible or justifiable? GB needs to take a good long look at their moderating process.

This is why I never cuss on official game forums... I am smart enough not to.

Use better vocabulary and no ban. That's the plan.

If you have an issue with the moderation process, talk to the mods about it. Unlike other forums, we actually quite like ours.

@klepto_kat: I get that you're shitty and all and if what you are saying is true then I agree it doesn't seem right but putting this on here isn't going to help your cause. If you want to complain you would be best to send a mod a PM explaining what happened and why you think it is unfair. And make sure to keep said response civil otherwise you are just going to do further damage. Also are you certain that the other user didn't get a ban too? Coz if they banned you both then that would make sense to me.

So you're upset that you got banned for acting like the person you wanted banned? Sounds like you already justified it. The reason it took him 3+ times to get banned and you only once, is because the mod entered the threat at the time. I mean seriously, do you think they just sit there and stalk the thread until they finally want to press the button or something?

if he didn't get a suspension, then that's pretty silly but you weren't any better.

@nintendoeats: There's no need to announce your flags, and it's technically against forum rules.

Back on the topic at hand, creating multiple accounts, regardless of the reason, isn't allowed, and when discussing mod actions, you should contact the mods, not make a public thread about it. Therefore, there's no reason for this thread to continue.
