Hey GB community. I just started working at a Academic Behavioral Club in which we are working with kids who are at risk students, have social disabilities, and suffer from some developmental disorders. Essentially it is a place for children to come, get one on one help with a teacher, an on staff Psychologist, and be a positive place for them to be. By making it fun for them, we have multiple PS3s, 360s, Wiis, iPads, and iPod Touches. Rather then giving out stickers or prizes, the electronics are used as e-reinforcers to try and promote academic growth and social communication. Since the kids have a hard time focusing on one subject or area at a time, we like to keep them moving non-stop. The goal is to get them to sit down and get a piece of homework finishes or finish an educational program and then move them onto a fun activity for anywhere from 3-10 min.

Currently the biggest hits I have found with the kids is Fruit Ninja Kinect and Sports Champions on the PS3. I am looking for other games, like these, that they can jump on...have a fun time / try to get a high score, then move right back into the academics. It makes it a lot easier to have them set high scores and try to put them on the "Wall of Fame" or offer incentives for them working together or playing independently the whole time. But the games seem to work better when there is an end point, it is hard to pull them away from a single player game to go back to academics when there is no stopping point. Since we just opened up, I have been able to get by with these as my main games for the past few weeks. However I suspect the kids will get tired of them and want some new stuff sooner or later. Any recommendations you could give, anything that you might think is fun or think kids ranging from the ages 7-14 would enjoy. Some ideas I have had is Pac Man Championship Edition, Wipeout HD, and maybe something like Geometry Wars. Any system works, any price range, and it can be disc or downloadable. Thanks for the suggestions!
