It wasn't really discontinued, they just haven't made a new game in the series yet. You are right though in that it has been far too long since the last entry. I can't wait for the next number.

I dont know Jakob, those don't sound like good reasons. Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil V are just about the best reasons to have sequels. Fighting games are the best genre to have updates, though with the advent of DLC, hopefully we can download additions instead of buying a complete game every time they make a tweak.

I remember hearing somewhere that a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was in development and would come "sooner than you think" but I can't seem to find where I read that. sorry. I am just pissed at myself for selling my copy of MvC2. Biggest mistake ever as the game goes for at least 80 bucks now

I think I've heard once that a new Marvel vs. Capcom was coming soon... I forget the source but I'm sure I've heard it.


I just hope there's another... I mean, can you imagine Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with 3D graphics??? That's just fucking awesome! Please Capcom, make another for your fans, it's my favorite fighting game of all time!

Marvel vs Capcom 2 sucked compared to the 3 games that came before it anyway.

Known as Marvel vs Capcom, Marvel vs Street Fighter, and X-Men vs Street Fighter.

Only good thing about MvsC2 was it's bigger character roster.

Importing isn't that hard. It's already out, get it. A little expensive here, but maybe other places have it too. You and a friend could share the cost.

Bingo! Give that man a dollar.  Marvel is notoriously hard to work with since they are so protective of their license, not that there is anything wrong with that.  After all, they've been badly burned in the past when they were less aggressive.  Capcom doesn't need the Marvel license any more and I doubt Marvel is interested considering it has a bunch of other games in the pipeline.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes for the Wii in  Al3xand3r's video is cool, but for even more muddled licensing agreements it won't ever make it to North American shores officially. Still anything withScience Ninja Team Gatchaman rocks in my book...especially if Jun/Princess is in the game.

Latest rumor is they'll "re-skin" TvC as MvC3, but we'll see.

I'm not a gigantic fan of MvC2; I like my games a bit slower and more technical (though I love me some Guilty Gear), but I still like it when played non-competitively.

Plus, a new 2d fighter is always good news, really.
