Just came across this, thought I'd share;

Source link: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/23171/multiplayer-crews-revealed-on-ign-play-from-max-payne-3-to-grand.html

A feature debuting in Max Payne 3 and carrying over to Grand Theft Auto V and future appropriate titles, Crews go beyond traditional online clans by allowing players to join large public Crews or simply create a private Crew that members can customize. In this way, Crews help players keep the fight alive from match to match - and even across titles - through the Rockstar Games Social Club, which will keep track of Crew stats, including Feuds (more info on that below).

Looks to be a pretty cool idea but I wonder if its more of a gimmick rather than serving any real ingame benefit? The article covers it in more detail but its still interesting to see devs willing to play with the crew/clan concept a bit.

Note: apologies if this should be in another section, couldn't decide which would suit it best!

I regret never getting into GTA IV multiplayer, but that game was barely playable on my PC. Besides that I don't think I've owned any Rockstar game with multiplayer...but this sounds like a cool feature. Sort of like having your own corporation in Syndicate, maybe?

Well they're staying fairly tight-lipped but the implication seems to be that it will be for all future Rockstar games, so you'll start seeing whole crews seamlessly shifting back and forth between the games. It'd be cool if this carried some form of additional ingame benefit, like money and so on (though admittedly money could be a flakey one if for example people start farming in one game and feeding the cash into another).

I really like the public crews idea, as I like these kinds of features but don't really have a lot of online gamer friends to play with.

Max Payne 3 looks awesome and I'm very interested to see what they do with GTA V's multiplayer. IV's was rough but had a lot of promise. I hope they do a co-op kind of mode.
