No xbox 720 at e3 this year

Yes, I know, good and bad news for the site here today. Let's see how that pans out from now. Fingers crossed. In other news, both good and bad apparently no new xbox to be revealed at e3 this year. In their official statement Microsoft seems to be pushing even harder on the xbox as a multimedia device and not a focused gaming platform.

Agreed. I think that there's still a lot of life left in Xbox 360. Also in PS3. The only new console I'm ready to see is Nintendo's. They need to make up for the almost disastrous Wii.

They have Halo 4 at the end of this year, no need for a new console until at least late 2013 early 2014.

I don't think this is much of surprise to anyone? they can soak another year out pretty easily.

I am kind of disappointed, this generation is just dragging on way too long. The Kotaku story had showed Microsoft saying this will be the best year ever for Xbox 360, with games like Halo, Forza, and Fable. To be honest I have had plenty of those games and that is a pretty weak lineup. I guess it makes sense business wise to wait longer, but the console are really showing their age now. I am playing almost everything on my PC.

I think we would have heard way more rumors by now if there was going to be a new Microsoft console at this E3, given the way these things leak these days.

I feel bad for all of the devs that have to watch hardware make awesome advances while they still have to work within the confines of the very dated console hardware.

Because Kotaku is a reliable news source, we should totally trust this guys.

well, i kind of want a new console. if they release it within the next year then around 2014 the price of it will be lowered. i get consoles when they lower the price of it.

That's not how it works. They always take a huge hit on a new console (except with the wii) The ps2 didn't make money for Sony until years after its release.

2015.  People need to think a little more.
