OG gameboy question

Gameboy w/Tetris. In any of the years that the gameboy came with tertis did it come with the purple manual? I see people saying no. My manuals in the box all end in CAN-3 as well as box. Tertis ends in -2.

Anyone know anything about them? I think its a '93 release as I have a cardboard liner not Styrofoam. Manual says '93. Anyone who actually knows and not just guessing would be a huge help. Perhaps someone has a matching box that can check.

If the manual says '93, why do you doubt it was a '93 SKU release?

Because I've got multiple sources saying it should be a black manual, yet they are either us unboxings or not the same release. Am trying to work out a deal with a friend and he's telling me its not right, but no supporting evidence on either side. I'm honest when it comes to trades, and do not want to rip myself off.

From checking my GameBoy World 1989 reference book the US cover appears to be black for that variant.

I'd check eBay for similar listings if I was you.

Yeah I've tried eBay, some with the cardboard insert (most I see are with a Styrofoam insert) have a purple... But most are black. I've got a Canadian release (which is a main reason I'm wondering) and can't find an ebay ad that shows the sku on the box.

Just want to know if its the o.g. book or been added to it after. Doesn't matter a whole lot, just hate not finding an answer haha
