Playstation 1 vs. N64 vs. Sega Saturn. Which one was your favorite and why?
My favorite was the Playstation because of Spyro and the Resident Evil games. I like Turok on the N64 tho......
Playstation, because it was the one that I got nearly all my games for. It's where so many of my (once) favourite franchises began as well. N64 was a solid console, but Sega Saturn would probably take second place for all of the weirder and more obscure shit I had on there. My N64 collection was relatively small and was only made up of all the big titles you'd ordinarily associate with the console.
Playstation because of all the awesome RPG's like Final Fantasy 7-9, Tactics, Breath of Fire III and so on. I do love me some N64 Starfox and Zelda games though.
I never really liked the original PS all that much (Jumping Flash was awesome)
The N64, I think, had better games overall, and I rate the Saturn in second because of how much I enjoyed playing fighting games on it.
That generation was what sent me back to PC gaming though
Unfortunately, I never had a PlayStation, so I missed out on a hell-of-a-lot. All I had was a N64 though, and I had some good times with it, so I'm gonna go with that.I feel like I missed out on something too. Had a couple of friends that had Playstation though, so I have memories attached to it. But I voted for N64 as that was the one that I had. Zelda, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Super Smash Bros, Wave Race... There are a lot of good memories there as well.
i loved both n64 and playstation. I think super smash bros and super mario 64 were 2 of the best games I have ever played. But playstation had the rpg's that grew me into the gamer i am today which are the likes of legend of dragoon, legend of mana, ff9. I loved tony hawk pro skater and destroyed crash bandicoot and spyro.
Playstation 1 by a huge margin. The N64 had some really good games and the Saturn had some incredible ones(Dragon Force is one of my favorite games ever) but the PS1 had so many games and so many great ones that it's really no comparison.
I like all of them, but aside from maybe Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Star Fox on the N64, I had much more fun with the PlayStation than I did with the other consoles of that time.
N64 because it was the one I played most. That was golden, right there on the edge of new technology... so many great games, and too many you don't see any more. Such as anything Rare (especially games like Banjo-Kazooie). It had weaknesses, but back then it didn't matter so much to me.
Now it's all serious shit, eh? Big graphics, big budgets, everything wants to be Hollywood.
PS1 without a doubt. GT1 GT2, the RPG's like grandia, the only games I ever liked on n64 were mario 64(a little) and crus'n usa(which I got a big thumb from playing too much)... Also I hated the N64 controller.
Playstation, the right choice. MGS, Final Fantasy, Crash, Spyro, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo, SotN. I could go on, but why?
Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 make this decision easy for me. Easily my greatest memories of that gen.
I'd have to with the PS1 since that's what I had. I still remember the year that Nintendo 64 came out, my parents had trouble finding it so asked if I'd be okay with either a Sega Saturn or Playstation. Of course I had to check with my classmates who had those systems, and it seemed to be unanimous that PS1 was the way to go.
I remember that Christmas getting both MLB Pennant Race and Crash Bandicoot. I would later pick up Jet Moto. All three are some of my favorite games.
My answer would probably be the PS1 if I had more exposure to it, but I played a whole lot more of the N64 and the slew of Nintendo games fresh into the polygonal era before their formulas were run into the ground.
There are too many awesome N64 games to list, so I'll just name the not-obvious one that I had a blast with: Army Men - Sarge's Heroes (I think it was the second one, but I really can't remember). Played the crap out of it in 4 player split-screen deathmatch. It was really fun.
