Terry Cavanagh makes a Flappy Bird fan game.

Terry Cavanagh creator of Super Hexagon and VVVVV made a Flappy Bird fan game called Maverick Bird, apparently there's also a Flappy Bird Jam happening too. So, lookout for more Flappin' Birds.

I had fun, got to about 11. Don't see the hate for flappy bird, never played it, but if its like this seems like fun.

Pretty good. Got 11. The backgrounds make it way more confusing though. And the dive button. Whoo wee.

This is already infinitely more interesting than flappy bird.

Different obstacle shapes, a dive button, it's faster, the sound design isn't bad, the backgrounds are nice and they change.

That's pretty great. The other day I was thinking 'someone should start a Flappy Bird Jam'. So I'm gonna take credit for the idea.

Hmm... I may make a flappy bird clone then. A really terrible (more terrible than supposedly Flappy bird is?) one because I am still learning the basics of how Game Maker even works.

Don't really like the music - although, it grew on me a bit as I played it. The 'new record' sound is ultra distracting.

It's actually better than Flappy Bird! (But how could it not be, really?)

Both of those are great. The second one made by the canabalt dude is really interesting.

Maverick Bird is like the essence of what's entertaining about Flappy Bird but wrapped in a great package that's very tight. All of the different obstacles really makes a difference. Cavanagh could release that on the app store and have a hit. ha.

It really depends on what you get. Some obstacles are easy (the "teeth" at the bottom means I don't have to flap), but others I will never figure out (going up then immediately down, no matter how quickly I dive).

Man this game is mean. The columns are moving to the beat of the music and they're chomping on my bird constantly. And I wish there was a share score option.

Depends on the draw but I got 12 as highest so far and thats because I got several regular columns in a row without any funny business then some crazy stair thing and I couldn't flap fast enough to clear it.

I think I like this more. It feels like the essence of Flappy Bird but with his own twist.

I cannot wait to stop hearing about Flappy Bird.
