The most heartbreaking part is Ryan's wiki page...

Seeing all the present tenses gradually become past tenses over the last 24 hours has been the most demoralizing, peremptory thing possible for me.

How the fuck does something like this just...happen? No preamble, no sickness, no nothing...it's like walking around a corner and being bashed in the face with a sledge hammer. I cannot even begin to fathom the levels of despair being felt by his family and Jeff right now. It must be agony.

RIP.

I noticed this yesterday too. This whole thing is pretty surreal. I'm watching the Freedom video and they just started talking about Ryan's wedding. This is just so sad.

I know it will take a lot of time to mourn this loss and I may sound like a douche for saying this, but I really hope to see at least one piece of content with the GB crew on camera, just to make sure they are holding up well. I'm praying for the guys and Ryan's family. This really blows...

And I will wait for a cause of death to be announced. There are too many possibilities to bother guessing. To reflect on OP's question I can say that I personally knew people young and old who had aneurysms that resulted in stroke or death. There's no warning. They're just gone.

@cbarnes86: Jeff said there ain't no stoppin' the podcast train. Seeing them on camera might be asking a lot... I mean "holding up well" besides showing up for work everyday? They are coping. There's a difference. It's ok that things are not ok.

That happened to a classmate of mine (not during class, at least) when I was in high school. She was in class on Friday, never came back on Monday. Stuff can be really fucked up like that, unfortunately :(

Sure. But Giant Bomb is the part of Ryan's life that he decided to share with us. Giant Bomb was our window to his life, and I don't think anyone is downplaying the effect that Ryan's death has had on his family and close friends... but we are the Giant Bomb community. It's only natural that something related to this website is what affects us the most.

The change that got to me was right at the end. It used to say "Is mean." Now it's been changed to "Was not mean."

EDIT: Although now I've just looked and it seems that opening summary got rewritten. Still, seeing that change yesterday was kind of sad to see.

Goddamn, this is never going to get any easier to deal with.
