What non-MMO game has the best loot?

I'm looking for a game to satisfy my never ending journey for better loot. Any recemendations? 

Diablo 2, Torchlight, Champions of Norrath, Borderlands are all good choices.

Torchlight and Borderlands both have alot of cleverness behind their loot in how you get it, how it looks, how it functions and what you can do with it.

PSO, really brings the world "rare" into focus, you can spend 300 hours and never seen 1/8th of all the rare items, forces people to trade online. Or it did until the hackers started duping and creating them.
 
Might be best to wait for PSO2 in that case.

Borderlands is awesome for it but i have to remind you that it is only guns and shields that you pick up in the game and most of the guns are the same just with a like a percentage difference in a stat.  Also shields do not change your appearance at all.   Random drops happen though so you can get some pretty awesome guns randomly which is nice.

You can't put D on that list.  The fact that there is a MP option with lootz overwhelms all other solo play.
 
I say Borderlands and Fallout 3 and 4.  Not just good loot, but fun to use in-game. 

I don't know your playing style but you could also maybe try games that could be argued as having something of a loot system (however unconventional), e.g. Team Fortress 2, or more goal-based like the C.O.D. games.

For consoles, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 & 2, Dungeons and Dragons Heroes, Deathspank
For PC, Titan Quest + Immortal Throne, Torchlight, Sacred 1, or any other Diablo clone.

For all the games out there with loot as a big focus in them, Diablo 2 is still the king of loot, bar none.

Yo, Sacred 2 gives you 25 lb Kobolds carrying an average of 200 lbs of loot. Most of the loot in the game is kinda crap (doesn't scale very well based on your level) but all of it changes your character's appearance, so I like it.

Lord of the Rings 2 for the GBA had some good looting.

Borderlands has great loot. Especially since its random gun generator always makes interesting combinations. Diablo 2 and Torchlight are also great choices. Torchlight is very accessible to newer players than Diablo would be if your unfamiliar with that type of gameplay. And the visual style of torchlight is great and appealing. Not saying Diablo 2 is insignificant, because that game is amazing, but i think Torchlight is much more accessible and more appealing to gamers new to those genres.

Too Human has the best loot! I find myself constantly changing my weapons and armor because I find something better.
